Position Summary
The Skilled Trades & Service Recruiter is responsible for executing full-cycle recruiting strategies to attract, engage, and hire high-quality field talent across the Construction Trades, HVAC & Plumbing Service, and related technical roles.
Reporting to the HR Director, this role partners closely with the Construction, and Service Leadership Teams to understand workforce needs, develop targeted recruiting strategies, and build a sustainable pipeline of skilled trade professionals.
The recruiter plays a critical role in supporting company growth by ensuring timely, high-quality hires while maintaining a strong candidate experience and aligning with DynaTen's culture and workforce standards
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for skilled trades and service roles (e.g., Apprentice, Journeymen, Foremen, Superintendent, and Sr. Superintendent across the Sheet Metal, Plumbing, Insulation, and Piping fields)
  • Coordinate with Hiring Managers for all Apprentice, Journeyman, Foremen, Superintendent and Sr. Superintendent candidates within the Skilled Trades Group
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, candidate profiles, and hiring timelines
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies tailored to skilled labor markets, including passive candidate outreach
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates for technical capability, cultural fit, and long-term potential
  • Coordinate and schedule the interview processes, feedback, and offer recommendations
  • Build and maintain active pipelines of qualified candidates for high-volume and hard-to-fill roles
  • Maintain relationships with Temporary Staffing agencies, coordinating all temporary staff needs
  • Utilize a variety of sourcing channels including job boards, social media, referrals, trade schools, and industry networks
  • Establish relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and workforce development organizations
  • Attend job fairs, hiring events, and industry networking opportunities to promote DynaTen employment opportunities
  • Partner with Service and Construction leadership to anticipate hiring needs and workforce trends
  • Provide market insights on candidate availability, compensation expectations, and hiring challenges
  • Track key metrics including, but not limited to, the number of open positions, changes in staffing flows, time to fill, retention rates, hiring manager satisfaction, and pipeline health
  • Support workforce planning initiatives for growth, backlog, and service demand
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership on recruiting strategies for critical and leadership-level field roles
  • Ensure consistent application of recruiting processes, documentation, and candidate tracking systems
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records within Workday ATS/HRIS system
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and hiring standards
  • Support onboarding coordination to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance to start date
  • Promote DynaTen's brand, culture, and career opportunities to candidates and external partners
  • Deliver a high-quality, professional candidate experience throughout the recruiting process
  • Support development of job postings, recruiting materials, and messaging aligned with company branding
  • Track and report out on current Temp usage across the DynaTen group
  • Maintain contracts and contact with external staffing companies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of recruiting experience in the skilled trades, construction, or service industry
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated success recruiting for high-volume or hard-to-fill technical roles
  • Strong understanding of skilled trades labor markets and sourcing strategies
  • Ability to build relationships with field leadership and operations as a trusted business partner
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting with HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction environments
  • Established network within local trade communities or technical talent pools
  • Experience supporting workforce planning or high-growth hiring environments
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Previous Workday ATS experience

Working Conditions
Must have the ability to perform the duties above in a non-controlled environment. This will include climbing ladders, working on ladders and elevated surfaces, maintain in good working conditions, tools, materials, and equipment required to your work area. Working exposed to the elements during (when required) at all times of the year. All employees are required to always wear PPE and always follow Safety procedures.
