Job description

Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

AEEC is currently seeking a Full-time Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support our customer's facility control systems in the western states. The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer has demonstrated experience in programming, testing, and maintaining SCADA and control systems, including networking, software, security methods, field construction oversight, and cloud integrations. The SCADA Instrumentation & Controls Engineer has demonstrated the ability to communicate with various stakeholders through documentation and collaboration. This is a Hybrid work position but travel will be required to Colorado, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Responsibilities:

  • Programming and Computing
    • Programming for SCADA and automation projects
    • Program and configure HMIs, RTUs, PLCs, or other systems
    • Cloud data integration connections including IoT gateways, sensors, API connectors, and other methods.
    • Networking and security for control systems
  • Testing and Commissioning
    • Create test plans, procedures, and reports.
    • Perform Factory Testing, Field Testing, and commissioning.
  • Field Work and Oversight
    • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics for implementation or installation oversight
    • Control system startup and commissioning
    • Use of testing and diagnostic tools
  • Design and Engineering
    • Controls narrative documentation
    • Technical reviews along with QA/QC
    • System factory testing
    • Networking and security design for control systems

Tools / Software:

  • Computer networks
  • SCADA software: Geo SCADA, Virtual View-x Wonderware, Factory talk
  • RTU/PLC: Remote Connect, Telepace Studio, Control Logix, Siemens Simatic
  • SCADA and device data connections to the cloud

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience (5+ years)

US citizenship is not required for this role, but must be located in the United States. All applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Unfortunately we are unable to accept H1B status candidates.

While performing duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
