Job description

Genesis Manufacturing & Distribution is an industry leader in the manufacturing of plastic components used in medical research, clinical diagnostic and biotech environments. Our 24-hour, ultra-modern facility is equipped with state of the art injection molding machines designed to guarantee reproducible and dependable products of the highest quality.
We are looking for a 3rd Shift Lead (Monday-Friday 10:53pm-7:30am) to perform various responsibilities as instructed by the Shift Supervisor. You will be the point person for inspecting production, communicating with staff to disseminate responsibilities, ensuring the production staff has inventory sufficient for production, and covering machines as needed. You will take instruction from the Supervisor on priority duties on a day-to-day basis. You will also need to be self-motivated to take on daily tasks that are essential to keeping production running efficiently. This role is essential to ensuring a productive environment and will need a team-oriented individual to help everyone succeed.
The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus requires knowledge of various injection molding processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to perform many types of responsibilities. The Shift Lead will be called upon to organize and manage their time efficiently with/without instruction and will need to have problem solving capabilities.
Essential Functions:
  • Conduct Quality Assurance checks and ensure standards and test procedures are met
  • Communicate effectively to participate in continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Perform cleaning and general maintenance tasks
  • Cover Injection Molding machines for lunch breaks
  • Perform material control processes such as cycle counting, lot tracking and other inventory needs
  • Manage floor inventory, taking direction from the supervisor on parts being run
  • Train new or newly assigned employees on their job duties, responsibilities and machine instruction
  • Enforce machine assignments as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good written and verbal skills

Job Qualifications: General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's) required
  • High school diploma
  • Injection Molding experience strongly preferred
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Teamwork
  • Self-motivated
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
