Job description

Why Join AngelList

We're solving some of the hardest problems in venture capital and private markets. You'll work with a team that values precision, urgency, and long-term thinking. If you want to shape how startups are funded and built, this is the place.

About AngelList

We exist to accelerate innovation by increasing the number of successful startups in the world. We do this by building the financial infrastructure that makes it easier for more people to invest in world-changing companies.

AngelList is the nexus of venture capital and the startup community. We support $171B+ in assets and have powered investments into over 13,000 startups-over 300 of which are unicorns. Today, 57% of top-tier U.S. VC deals involve investors on AngelList. While our scale is large, our ambition is larger.

If you're excited to build the future of private markets, come build with us.

About the Role:

We're building the most efficient platform for operating funds and investing in startups. Our Infrastructure team is small, fast-moving, and foundational to every product we build. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will shape the platform infrastructure that supports billions in venture assets.

This isn't a pure operations role. You will be building: developer platforms, deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and foundational systems that make our engineering team fast and reliable. Our stack runs on Kubernetes and AWS, and we use tools like Pulumi, cdk8s, and ArgoCD - but what matters most is your ability to design, build, and iterate quickly.

You will have the opportunity to:
  • Design and build platform infrastructure that serves the entire engineering organization - from deployment pipelines to observability to developer tooling.
  • Architect systems for reliability and scale on AWS, making pragmatic tradeoffs for a growing team.
  • Automate infrastructure using code (e.g., Pulumi, cdk8s, ArgoCD) to improve repeatability and reduce toil.
  • Own production health: monitor systems, respond to incidents, and drive root cause analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership for the infrastructure team, influencing the engineering roadmap as we grow
You might come from either of these backgrounds:
  • Platform / systems engineering: You've built platforms or internal tools end-to-end - auth systems, notification infrastructure, developer tooling - and you're excited to go deeper into infrastructure and reliability practices at the organizational level.
  • Infrastructure / SRE: You've operated production infrastructure reliably and want to grow beyond operations into building the platforms themselves.
How Success Will Be Measured
  • The infrastructure platform becomes more reliable, efficient, and proactively enables developers over time.
  • Developer satisfaction with platform tools and workflows increases measurably.
  • You ship meaningful improvements to how we build, deploy, and operate our systems.
Working Here

If you don't meet every requirement above, we still encourage you to apply. We value complementary strengths and operators who learn by doing.

AngelList has offices in a few cities, with our engineering hub in San Francisco. We're building our engineering and product teams around this hub to make the most of in-person collaboration. We have a hybrid in-office model: teammates come in at least 2 days per week (Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday).

Compensation:
The compensation for this role consists of a competitive base salary, performance based variable component, benefits, and equity package. The base salary for this role is $200,000+ annually but actual will vary based on a number of factors including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location.
