Job description

Job Summary:
TekSynap is a fast-growing high-tech company that understands both the pace of technology today and the need to have a comprehensive well planned information management environment. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and coordinating with network engineers to ensure system efficiency and security.
Responsibilities:
• Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
• Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
• Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• May be assigned responsibility for less experienced staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active TS/SCI + CI Poly clearance
• Active CompTIA Security+
• At least one Advanced Platform Certification: RHCSA, RHCE or Windows equivalent
• Minimum 8–12 years of progressively responsible systems administration experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise, multi-user environments in DoD or Intelligence Community settings preferred
• Experience operating in classified environments
