About the Role
The Senior HRIS Administrator serves as Birdi's primary technical and functional expert for UKG solutions, including UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management (WFM). This role is responsible for the configuration, optimization, maintenance, and ongoing support of Birdi's HR technology ecosystem.
In addition to HRIS administration, this role supports critical HR operations, payroll administration, benefits processes, compliance reporting, and workforce analytics. The Senior HRIS Administrator works closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Information Technology, Operations, and business leaders to ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and seamless user experiences across all HR technology platforms.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong technical expertise, and the highest standards of confidentiality when handling employee information.
What You'll Do
HRIS Administration & System Configuration
  • Serve as the primary administrator for UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management (WFM).
  • Configure and maintain:
    • Business rules
    • Security roles
    • Workflows
    • Organizational structures
    • Pay rules
    • Accrual policies
    • Timekeeping and attendance settings
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems, ensuring timely updates for:
    • New hires
    • Promotions
    • Compensation changes
    • Leaves of absence
    • Transfers
    • Terminations
  • Manage system security, user provisioning, and access controls in alignment with company policies and data governance standards.
System Optimization, Upgrades & Integrations
  • Lead UKG upgrades, patches, enhancements, and module implementations.
  • Support requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
  • Partner with IT and external vendors to support integrations between UKG and:
    • Benefits providers
    • ERP systems
    • Applicant Tracking Systems
    • Learning platforms
    • Third-party HR technology tools
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, self-service capabilities, and system enhancements.
  • Stay informed on UKG product updates and HR technology best practices.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Integrity
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics using UKG Business Intelligence, People Analytics, and related reporting tools.
  • Generate and distribute recurring reports, including:
    • Headcount
    • Turnover
    • PTO utilization
    • Training completion
    • Recruiting metrics
    • OIG compliance reporting
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and system accuracy.
  • Support organizational reporting needs across HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Leadership teams.
  • Assist with compliance reporting requirements, including:
    • EEO reporting
    • ACA reporting
    • URAC audits
    • SOC reporting
    • Other regulatory and accreditation requirements
User Support & Training
  • Provide ongoing support for HR, Payroll, managers, and employees regarding UKG functionality and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Create and maintain:
    • Standard operating procedures
    • User guides
    • Training materials
    • System documentation
  • Facilitate training sessions and support adoption of new system functionality.
Benefits & Payroll Support
  • Partner with Payroll to support payroll configuration, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Support processing and administration of:
    • Garnishments
    • Wage verifications
    • Tax settings
    • Employee deductions
  • Assist with benefits administration activities, including:
    • Billing audits
    • Employee enrollments
    • Life events
    • Terminations
    • Leave administration
  • Work with benefits providers to resolve employee concerns and ensure accurate administration.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain electronic personnel records in accordance with company standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and accreditation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • HIPAA
    • FLSA
    • GDPR
    • Federal, state, and local employment laws
    • URAC, ACHC, and NABP standards
  • Promote continuous improvement through process optimization and technology enhancements.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on UKG experience, including:
    • UKG Pro
    • UKG Workforce Management (WFM)
  • Experience administering and configuring HRIS systems in a complex business environment.

  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, recruiting, performance management, and compliance functions.
  • Experience with UKG reporting tools, Business Intelligence, People Analytics, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
