Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS & Data Specialist to support environmental and operational projects through data analysis, spatial interpretation, and performance tracking. This role will assist project managers with developing work packages, performing QA/QC on data inputs, and delivering actionable insights via dashboards and visual reports. Business conduct must occur in accordance with OMS policies and procedures and be aligned with the goals of OMS.
Essential Functions:
• Assist client project managers by developing data-driven work packages and interpreting spatial datasets to support project planning and execution.
• Create compelling visual presentations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI to communicate project status, trends, and performance metrics.
• Conduct spatial analyses to support environmental planning and permitting efforts. Track performance metrics and generate clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Use strong communication skills and supervisory experience to provide guidance to junior analysts or team members, ensuring alignment and data consistency.
• Other duties as assigned by OMS or the client.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Geography, Data Science, GIS, Information Systems, Statistics, Environmental, Forestry or a related field.
o GIS or data analytics certifications (e.g., ESRI, SQL, Python) are a plus.
o Five (5) or more years of professional experience working with geospatial data, spatial analysis, and data management.
o Familiarity with utility or environmental project workflows is a plus
o Conduct a background check, drug screening, and physical exam.
o Approval by Client Representative.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor conditions; exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials. Noise level is usually moderate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to perform tasks during a typical 8+ hour workday.
Pay Range
$33.00 Hourly to $46.00 Hourly
