Job description

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION
The ideal candidate would possess the following specific skills/experience:
  • Expertise in Esri's applications and software including: Utility Pipeline Database Model (UPDM), Utility Network (UN), ArcPro, Enterprise, Portal, ArcGIS Online, Web Dashboard and Experience Builder, Esri Field Maps
  • Programming Language: Esri Arcade and Python
  • Operation and Mobile Applications
  • AutoCad
  • SQL Server
  • SAP Experience
  • Construction Management Application experience such as LocusView.

Primary Duties
1. Create presentations and workflow diagrams for GIS processes and results
2. Support and troubleshoot business users with GIS Applications
3. Develop project plans in collaboration with other stakeholders
4. Effectively communicates related GIS initiatives to other stakeholders
5. Consults with end users to create documentation relating to the program definition, development, business requirements. Documentation includes software objectives, deliverables, and end user specifications.
6. Analyzes test results, formulates modifications, and implements solutions to problem areas
7. Prepares and writes reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
8. Trains end users to operate new or modified programs.
9. Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
10. Works with external vendors to assure efficient implementation of software products or systems.
11. Keeps abreast of new and changing technological advances in program languages, utilities, tools and client/server technology to assure achievement of optimum results.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field and five years related experience performing complex geospatial analysis and providing mapping solutions in the Gas Utilities or Energy Sector
Certified GISP preferred

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no experience or knowledge of the technical area.
NUMERIC SKILLS:
Requires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric, and geometric operations, analyses involving ratios, percentages and moderately complex statistical and/or accounting methods.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires a very high level of computer skills to use and/or understand various programming languages for writing, modifying, and executing programs.

WORK CONDITIONS:
Works in an office environment. May on occasion work in an outdoor environment for field site visits. Requires occasional out of town overnight travel.
Requires frequently performing activities including, but not limited to sitting, repetitive wrist movement and/or shifting gaze from data to PC screen.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
