Will Fullstack be replaced by AI?

Full Stack Designers play a key role in developing both front-end and back-end components of web applications, requiring skills in coding, design, and problem-solving. While AI tools can assist with tasks like code generation and design suggestions, they are unlikely to fully replace the comprehensive expertise and creativity of a senior full stack designer, who also manages user experience and project coordination.

What are Senior Full Stack Designers?

Senior Full Stack Designers are experienced professionals who possess both design and development skills, allowing them to oversee and contribute to all aspects of a digital product’s user experience and technical implementation. They typically work on both the front-end (user interface and experience) and back-end (server, databases, and logic) of web or app projects. Their responsibilities include designing intuitive interfaces, ensuring responsive design, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior designers and developers. Senior Full Stack Designers bridge the gap between design and engineering, ensuring a cohesive and functional final product.

What is the salary of a senior full stack developer?

The salary of a senior full stack developer typically ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and company size. They often possess skills in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and tools such as JavaScript, React, Node.js, and cloud platforms.

How does a Senior Full Stack Designer typically collaborate with developers and product managers on complex projects?

As a Senior Full Stack Designer, you’ll frequently work cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality. You’ll often be involved early in the product planning stages, contributing to user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, and then collaborating closely with developers to translate designs into production-ready code. This role requires strong communication skills to advocate for user experience while balancing technical constraints and business goals. Regular feedback sessions and agile methodologies are common, allowing for rapid iteration and alignment across teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Senior Full Stack Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Full Stack Designer, you need advanced proficiency in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, along with strong knowledge of front-end and back-end development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and version control systems (e.g., Git), as well as an understanding of APIs and database management, are typically required. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and communication skills help you bridge the gap between design and development while working with cross-functional teams. These skills and qualities are essential for creating seamless, user-centered digital products that meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.

Are full stack devs still in demand?

Full stack developers remain in high demand due to their versatility in handling both front-end and back-end development, with many companies seeking professionals skilled in frameworks like React, Angular, Node.js, and database management. The role often requires knowledge of multiple programming languages and tools, and demand is expected to continue as businesses prioritize agile, full-spectrum development capabilities.

Is full stack worth it in 2026?

For a Senior Full Stack Designer, full stack development remains valuable in 2026 as it combines front-end and back-end skills, increasing versatility and employability. Staying updated with frameworks like React or Node.js and gaining experience with cloud services can enhance career prospects in this evolving field.

Job description

About NDi:

Network Designs, Inc. (NDi) is a leading Federal contractor that specializes in designing, developing, and delivering information technology and network solutions for government customers. Founded in 1985, NDi's firmly defined core values have driven all aspects of the business, which have been paramount to our company's success and the establishment of an enjoyable workplace atmosphere. At NDi, we believe that our people are the cornerstone of our success, and we value collaboration, career growth, and winning ideas. Military Veterans Encouraged to Apply.

Job Description:

NDi is seeking a Senior AI Integrator to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of AI/ML solutions for Civil Engineering operations at Westover Air Reserve Base. This is a high-impact, autonomous role requiring a "full-stack" AI practitioner who can navigate the complexities of data engineering, cloud architecture, and DevOps within secure DoD environments.

The successful candidate will not only build custom neural networks but will also architect the supporting infrastructure for mission-critical applications in contract analysis, energy optimization, and snowfall recovery. This role requires a rare blend of deep technical execution and the ability to translate complex AI workflows for Government stakeholders and Air Force personnel.

Requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • This role is fully onsite (5days / week) in Westover Air Reserve Base, Chicopee, MA.
  • No clearance required - just the ability to obtain a military CAC to access the base.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of professional experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or data science.
  • Specialized AI Focus: At least 5 years of hands-on experience specifically dedicated to building and deploying custom AI/ML models, with a focus on neural networks and deep learning.
  • Technical Stack Proficiency: AI/ML: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Keras.
  • Big Data: Apache Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, and PostgreSQL.
  • Languages/Frameworks: Advanced Python, Django, Celery, and Linux-based environments.
  • Integrations: REST, GraphQL, and MQTT.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD workflows, and automated testing within a DevSecOps framework.
  • Communication: Exceptional technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical operational users.
  • Environment: Experience working in secure and air-gapped environments is highly preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • The ideal candidate is a relative veteran of the AI landscape who can operate as a "team of one" when necessary. You should be comfortable moving from high-level architectural design to low-level custom code, with the maturity to manage Government stakeholder expectations and provide independent technical leadership on site.

Responsibilities:

  • AI/ML Engineering: Design, train, optimize, and deploy custom AI/ML models (including deep learning and neural networks) tailored to specific Civil Engineering use cases.

  • Data Engineering: Architect and execute data pipelines - preparing, labeling, cleansing, and validating large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.

  • Systems Architecture: Set up and manage the full development lifecycle, including test and production environments, within approved secure boundaries.
DevSecOps & Integration: Implement CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing; manage containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and secure coding practices.

  • Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain well-architected REST/GraphQL services and backend systems using Django and PostgreSQL.

  • Sustainment & Training: Lead software patching, model retraining, and performance monitoring. Conduct recurring monthly training for Air Force personnel to ensure operational adoption.

  • Reporting: Deliver monthly project status reports and provide expert technical representation in briefings and committee meetings.

Compensation and Benefits:

At NDi, we value our team and are committed to retaining top talent by offering competitive benefits and compensation packages. Our employee benefits package includes comprehensive health, dental, vision, pet, and legal insurance. Our corporate benefits include 401(k) retirement matching, paid leave, paid holidays, and health and wellness programs. In addition, we provide employer-paid life and disability insurance, professional development, education benefits, and much more to ensure our team has the resources they need to thrive on and off the job.

Veterans First Commitment:

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), NDi is dedicated to hiring veterans and providing a supportive work environment that honors their service while recognizing the unique skills and experiences they bring to our organization.

Our Commitment:

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.
