Job Description Job Description Seeking PPE/Fixed Asset experience out of Utility or Oil & Gas industry ideally. Position Overview: The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's fixed asset records and ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of all fixed asset transactions. This role is essential for optimizing asset utilization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. Key Responsibilities: Asset Management: Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Ensure all fixed assets are accurately recorded and classified in accordance with accounting policies and standards. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review fixed asset-related financial reports and schedules for internal and external reporting. Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies. Depreciation and Amortization: Calculate and record depreciation and amortization expenses for fixed assets. Monitor asset lifecycles and ensure proper accounting treatment for asset retirements and impairments. Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain internal controls related to fixed asset accounting and safeguard assets against loss or misuse. Audit and Documentation: Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to fixed assets. Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with auditors to facilitate the audit process.
