Job description

Fuze HR is proud to partner with a premier fire safety and protection company dedicated to safeguarding lives and property across Southern California. We specialize in the design, installation, service, and maintenance of commercial and industrial fire sprinkler systems. We are looking for a hands-on, driven Sprinkler Project Manager to lead our Los Angeles field teams and oversee projects from pre-construction to successful closeout.

Role Overview:

The Sprinkler Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of fire sprinkler installation and service projects across the LA region. This role requires a balance of field expertise and leadership. You will act as the primary liaison between field crews, general contractors, and internal design teams, ensuring all work meets rigorous NFPA standards and local LA city codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage multiple fire protection projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and direct field installation and service teams, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Field Coordination: Act as a hands-on troubleshooter when necessary, leveraging your background in installing and servicing sprinkler systems to resolve on-site technical issues.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Track project budgets, manage labor hours, order materials, process RFIs, and handle change orders.
  • Compliance & Permitting: Ensure all fire sprinkler systems comply with local LADBS and LAFD codes. Oversee the submittal process for fire sprinkler plan checks and permits.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate effectively with general contractors, building owners, and our internal design/estimating departments.
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years of combined field and project leadership experience in the fire protection or mechanical contracting industry.
  • Field Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in the installation and/or servicing of commercial fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, standpipes, etc.).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead field crews, schedule work, and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading construction documents, blueprints, and fire protection specifications. Familiarity with estimating and project management software (e.g., Procore, AutoSprink, MS Project).
  • Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Applicable Licenses & Certifications (For LA Metro):

To work effectively and legally within the City of Los Angeles and California, the following licenses/certifications are highly preferred or required:

  • California State Fire Sprinkler Fitter Certification
  • NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies): Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout or Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
  • LAFD Chief's Regulation No. 4 Certificate of Fitness
  • C-16 Fire Protection Contractor License (State of California)
