How Your Role Fits In
The Senior Financial Analyst will provide management with all aspects of the analysis of financial and operational data, monitor variances, identify areas needing improvement, and provide recommendations for actions to take. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the interpretation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial statements that are the foundation of corporate strategic decisions. Additional responsibilities include building and managing WOW's corporate model and building models for greenfield projects and acquisitions.
What you'll do:
  • Analyze financial and operational data by identifying, tracking, and monitoring financial and operational metrics and comparing with models, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Identify areas of concern and determine the root cause based on data interpretation, comparative analysis, and identifying trends.
  • Provide analysis of financial and operational results monthly, quarterly, and annually at a location, SBU (Strategic Business Unit), and corporate level.
  • Prepare management and Board of Director reporting packages.
  • Communicate and present financial analysis in an effective, concise manner.
  • Increase effectiveness and efficiency by developing automated reporting and analysis tools.
  • Lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual budget process.
  • Assist in the monthly and quarterly forecast process.
  • Create and evaluate financial and pricing models, including corporate, greenfield and acquisition models.
  • Assist with optimizing capital structure and cost of capital.
  • Identify inefficient and non-value added process' and assist in driving improvement.
  • Collect and provide analysis of data for process improvement projects.
  • Ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Develop and generate reports.

What it takes to succeed:
  • Education -
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, analytics, or closely related field required.
  • Experience -
    • 5+ years of experience in budgeting and multi-year forecasting, including developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex analyses.
    • 5+ years of experience evaluating financial statements and business plans.
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data analysis skills.
  • Computer Skills -
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
    • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
    • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL a plus.
