Job description

Cruz Associates, Inc. of Yorktown, Virginia has an open position for qualified candidates for an Senior Electronics Technician. The job location is at the Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center, Maryland.


Scope of Performance: Candidates will possess extensive knowledge of electronic systems, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and preventative maintenance. This position is responsible for diagnosing complex electronic issues, supporting system integration, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring mission equipment meets quality and operational standards. This position requires you to pass a Department of Transportation physical. This position is an on-site position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electronic equipment and systems
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic assemblies, instrumentation, and support equipment
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, soldering iron, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, tools, and inventory of repair parts.
  • Must have experience with computer configurations, setup, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with production personnel to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Including put not limited to system upgrades, prototype testing, and equipment modifications
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians
  • Support field operations is requested by the customer
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.


Education and Experience – Required:

  • Associates degree in Electronics Technology or related technical field. Equivalent military training or experience may be substituted
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as an electronics technician
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to gain/maintain Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and respirator fit test
  • Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs)
