Senior Executive Compensation Consultant
Location: Flexible location options: Irvine, Santa Clara
Employment Type: Permanent, Onsite

Salary: Competitive base $150K–$200K + performance bonus + equity + sign-on bonus
About the Role
The Senior Executive Compensation Consultant is a strategic leader who builds and maintains the governance, structure, and analytical foundation for executive compensation in a dynamic public-company environment. This role owns the operating model for compensation governance, ensuring disciplined planning for Compensation Committee meetings, regulatory disclosures, and annual filings. You'll bring structure and rigor to complex, cross-functional work while partnering with senior executives, Legal, Finance, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Own the annual calendar for executive compensation, including Compensation Committee planning materials and key filing milestones.
Develop presentation materials, track deliverables, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
Support research and preparation for shareholder engagement meetings, focusing on executive compensation topics.
Establish decision frameworks, templates, and documentation standards for consistent, defensible executive pay decisions.
Track key decisions, follow-ups, and approvals to ensure governance continuity and audit readiness.
Build and maintain advanced Excel-based models and analyses for executive pay decisions and scenario planning.
Establish and manage equity guidelines and budget parameters aligned with company strategy and governance standards.
Partner with Legal, Finance, and external advisors on public-company disclosures and filings (e.g., proxy/CD&A, 10-K, 8-K).
Anticipate governance, disclosure, and regulatory requirements, proactively preparing materials and analyses.
Ensure executive compensation processes are documented, repeatable, and scalable as the company grows.
Must-Have Qualifications
10+ years in Compensation roles, including 7+ years in Executive Compensation within a public-company environment.
Executive compensation governance experience, specifically equity-based for public companies.
Shareholder meeting experience and Compensation Committee planning.
Advanced Excel modeling and analysis skills.
Expertise in public company disclosures and filings (e.g., proxy/CD&A, 10-K, 8-K).
High judgment, discretion, and attention to detail with confidential information.
Proven ability to bring structure and rigor to complex, cross-functional projects.
Executive-facing experience.
Industry: Fortune 100 publicly traded company or compensation consulting firm.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
