Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Northern Florida/Alabama, Government & Community Affairs ("GCA"), District 2, this role has responsibility for local governmental policy and advocacy matters for Northern Alabama. This person will assist in developing and implementing city legislative strategies, monitors ordinances, and assists in facilitation of state and local government-facing business initiatives. This role will coordinate with the state lead on state and local membership organizations. Assists with corporate initiatives and works with state GCA to coordinate community affairs activities.

CORE RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Assistin developingand implementingcitygovernment advocacystrategies,monitoringordinances, andlocal government affairsactivities.

  • Assistin buildingstrategies and tactics toeffectivelyadvocate company prioritiesatall levels of local government.

  • Develop andmaintainrelationships with government representatives and regulators at the local level. Travel to attend meetings, hearings, or other events torepresentthe company.

  • Negotiate franchise agreements and rights of way agreements with local government municipalities as well as solving challenges related to franchise andpermittingissues.

  • Monitorlocallegislativeactivity affecting ComcastNBCUniversalbusinessinterests.Work closely with the HQ SharedServicesPolicy team toreview ordinances and receive policy direction from subject matter experts.Execute advocacy strategies and tactics based on the company's policy guidance.

  • Assistin facilitation of state and local government-facing business initiatives.

  • Provide guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and soundlocalgovernment policy and enhance communication withlocalofficialsatall levels ofgovernment.

  • Assistin coordinationwiththeSenior Directoron all franchisingactivities across the state.

  • Assistwith the resolution ofcomplex and/or difficult franchise renewals, franchise transfers,and franchise non-compliance issues.

  • Assistwithcorporate initiatives and work withstateGCA to coordinate community affairs activities.

  • Develop relationships onbehalf ofComcastwithlocalandregionalpowerproviders.

  • Develop relationshipson behalf of Comcastwithcoalition and industry trade associationsandregional andlocalChambersofCommerce.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
