Senior Vice President, ESG Data Solutions & Controls

Role Responsibilities:

We're seeking a Senior Vice President within the Sustainability Hub to lead ESG data governance and automation delivery across a matrixed environment. This role defines ESG regulatory and business-driven consumer requirements, drives delivery across data producers and engineering, and ensures governed data supports reporting, analytics, and AI-enabled use cases. This is a HYBRID role located in New York City.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead the Sustainability Hub's ESG data operating model across data producers, data management, engineering, and disclosure stakeholders.

  • Serve as the Hub's senior data lead and primary point of contact with Data Management / the Divisional Data Office. 

  • Translate ESG regulatory and business requirements into consumer requirements, including reusable datasets, critical data elements, and required dimensions.

  • Lead data producer engagement and data contract delivery, aligning scope, sourcing approach, timelines, and data quality expectations under BNY's data mesh model.

  • Partner with engineering to define and deliver the consumer-side tech environment supporting ingestion, transformation, and delivery of governed datasets. 

  • Own transformation of reusable datasets into ESG reporting outputs and downstream consumption patterns. 

  • Ensure ESG data is structured to support AI-enabled use cases, including automation, analytics, and agent-based workflows (e.g., ELIZA). 

  • Translate priorities into execution plans, decisions, and escalation paths.

  • Build and coach a high-performing team, driving accountability and delivery standards.

Qualifications:

To be successful in the role, we're seeking the following:

  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data architecture, or enterprise data delivery in complex, regulated environments, including ESG data. 

  • Proven experience in executing data governance in mesh-aligned/ federated data models.

  • Strong understanding of consumer-side technical architecture and a track record of partnering with engineering to deliver enterprise-grade, production-ready data solutions

  • Demonstrated experience enabling AI-ready data usage through governed structures, reusable datasets, and well-defined downstream consumption patterns. 

  • Strong executive communication and ability to align senior stakeholders across business, technology, and data management.
