Job description

About the Team:
The team specializes in the Epic platform specific to solutions for our Revenue Cycle Operations. Their core responsibilities center on Epic application build and configuration, ensuring that system functionality aligns with operational needs and organizational strategy. This team is experienced in workflow design, collaborating with revenue cycle, and operational stakeholders to translate business requirements into optimized Epic workflows. They play a key role throughout the Epic implementation lifecycle, including system design, build, testing, training support, and Go-Live readiness and stabilization. In addition, the team has expertise in Professional Billing (PB) within Epic, supporting charge capture, claims processing, and revenue cycle optimization for professional services. Their combined skill set ensures that both clinical and billing workflows are integrated, efficient, and compliant.

The Senior (Sr.) Application Analyst is responsible for participating in the overall design, implementation, training, documentation, operation, and support of Clinical or Business applications and reports. This includes contributing to the planning, design, implementation, and optimization of their specific application. The Sr. Application Analyst takes general direction from their supervisor or manager. The Sr. Application Analyst may in some instances also serve as a Helios liaison to their associated clinical or business departments throughout the system. This includes, but is not limited to, the assessment of optimization efforts to meet system goals including patient safety/quality of care, revenue capture and efficient operations. The Sr. Application Analyst performs these activities following Henry Ford Health standards and processes.
Education & Experience Required:
  • Associates Degree / two (2) years of college required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Requires more than two years of strong experience in one of the following:
  • Technical experience:
    • Strong knowledge of state-of-the art engineering approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems, and ongoing technical support.
    • Able to articulate previous examples of workflows and processes associated with previous IT experience.

AND/OR
  • Clinical experience includes:
    • Strong knowledge/experience in clinical workflows and processes.
    • Able to articulate previous examples of workflows and processes associated with clinical experience integrated with IT solutions.

AND/OR
  • Revenue experience includes:
    • Specific knowledge of one or more of the following: bed management, registration, scheduling, revenue cycle reports, professional billing, hospital billing, medical records, or coding.
    • Additionally, must be able to articulate revenue cycle workflows and processes for one or more of the above areas with a focus on IT integrated solutions.

Required Certifications:
  • Epic accreditation or certification in designated application (may hire into position without accreditation or certification but must attain accreditation or certification within first 6 months of hire to continue employment.)
