Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

Job Summary:
Responsible for the promotion and maintenance of the Area or Regional environmental safety and health program, inclusive of wellness and security as it applies to employees' safety while performing work, as directed by the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Leader.

What you will do:

  • Assist with leading and coordinating safety process efforts in the commercial sales / service offices as directed by the Regional EHS Leader.

  • Conduct inspections, risk assessments and jobsite visits with technicians at customer sites, both service and contracting.

  • Ensure all safety, occupational health and environmental related records are accurately maintained and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, provincial, state or other regulatory agency rules and regulations and Trane procedures.

  • Implement Trane safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

  • Analyze safety data to coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement. Participate in department Lean processes including Regional EHS A3.

  • Assist in development and conduct annual safety training in assigned area offices, to include all regional employees

  • Conduct new-hire safety training in assigned areas. Support implementation and purchasing required PPE meeting Trane field standards, conduct in-person high-risk training and assign online training as determined by the business and regional training plan.

  • Ensure that regional training, Qualified Person, PPE and inspection databases are updated and maintained.

  • Participate on corporate teams as needed to assist in the development of safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensure safety and/or environmental invoices and purchase requisitions are processed in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate and lead the Safety Committees in assigned areas and complete action items in a timely manner.

  • Participate in investigation of injuries, near misses, incidents and accidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed.

  • Utilize company EHS platform, Benchmark|Gensuite, as directed to assign and monitor inspections, concern and near miss reports, Action Tracking System items and generate various reports as directed.

  • Support review and mitigation of safety concerns through all business platforms, such as XOi, ProCore, etc.

  • Ensure inspections and audits are completed on a regular basis in assigned area offices. Assist inspectors in corrective actions and development of preventative measures.

  • Assist with overseeing the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier and administering the return-to-work program.

  • Represent the organization in the community and / or industry safety groups and programs.

  • Assist in evaluation of contractors as part of the regional contractor qualification program.

  • Assist other Trane Technologies businesses, such as co-located Trane Supply stores, as needed and directed.

  • Independently work remotely with the regional geography, with expectation to be with technicians on jobsites and rotate through the regional offices on a regular basis, approximately 65% of the time. Other times should be focused on administrative and regulatory paperwork or safety concern follow-up, while working in your base office.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or Safety Sciences/Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • One or more safety-related professional certification is desired (i.e. CSP, CIH, CHSM).

  • A minimum 3+ years of practical environmental health and safety management experience at a medium-large site preferred.

  • General knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MSHA, DOT, Canada Health & Safety Board as regionally appropriate.

  • Experience in the interpretation of federal, provincial, state, local, environmental and safety standards.

  • Beginning experience in fast paced, changing/growing organization.

  • Excellent time management skills and computer experience in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and EHS data management system (i.e. Gensuite).

  • Ability to motivate, engage and influence others.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal in English. Bi-lingual is an asset.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt well to face-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy.

$65,200.00 - $118,860.00
