At SSOE, you will not just be executing tasks; you will continuously expand your expertise by confronting diverse and complex electrical engineering challenges unique to the semiconductor and advanced high-tech industrial sectors. From designing robust low and medium voltage power distribution systems to engineering the precise electrical infrastructure required for sophisticated cleanroom manufacturing environments, your work will be at the intersection of reliability, precision, and innovation. You will be supported by access to advanced training, leading design and analysis tools including power system modeling software, and a collaborative multidisciplinary culture. We foster your ambition with clear pathways for career progression, whether your aspiration is technical leadership, project management, or becoming a revered subject matter expert in mission-critical power systems. All of this unfolds within a truly integrated team environment that champions knowledge sharing, innovation, and technical excellence, backed by the stability and proven delivery of a well-established firm.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at SSOE, you will be a pivotal leader in shaping the electrical infrastructure of advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities. Your deep understanding of low and medium voltage power distribution, cleanroom electrical design requirements, comprehensive code analysis, and power system studies will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, resilience, safety, and regulatory compliance of our innovative designs. You will thrive in a collaborative, design-build environment where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will be highly valued. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on technically complex, large-scale projects at the cutting edge of technology, lead internal engineering teams, mentor developing engineers, and directly contribute to the success of our leading semiconductor clients and the growth of our firm in this dynamic, high-growth sector.
AI and Innovation
At SSOE, we don't just talk about the future, we build it. As a leader in industry AI adoption, we empower our team to work smarter by providing responsible access to the industry leading AI Large Language Models, vibe-coding platforms, and securely integrating advanced tools into every role. From day one, you'll receive the training and support needed to leverage AI as a core tool for enhancing productivity, sparking creativity, and streamlining complex workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive the electrical engineering design and planning process for a portfolio of complex, large-scale advanced high-tech industrial and semiconductor projects, including wafer fabrication facilities (fabs), cleanrooms, sub-fab utility levels, central utility plants (CUP), process support buildings, and associated administrative and laboratory spaces; from conceptual design and load analysis through construction administration within an integrated design-build delivery framework.
  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day oversight to internal electrical engineering project teams, ensuring the creation of coordinated, high-quality construction documents that meet our client's specifications, industry best practices, and project schedules.
  • Lead the design of comprehensive low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) power distribution systems, including MV switchgear, substation design and coordination, MV/LV transformers, low voltage switchgear and switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), panelboards, busway distribution, and critical power pathways, ensuring selectivity, coordination, and arc flash hazard mitigation.
  • Guide the seamless integration of electrical design with mechanical, process, structural, architectural, I&C, and fire protection systems, collaborating with all engineering disciplines to ensure holistic coordination, constructability, and operational performance.
  • Perform and oversee power system studies using industry-standard software (e.g., SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower), including short circuit analysis, protective device coordination studies, arc flash hazard analysis and labeling, load flow analysis, harmonic analysis, and motor starting studies to validate design integrity and safety.
  • Interpret and apply the relevant codes for all project phases, including in-depth interpretation and application of the International Building Code (IBC), International Existing Building Code (IEBC), International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), International Fire Code (IFC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), local amendments, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 75 (Protection of Information Technology Equipment), NFPA 76 (Fire Protection of Telecommunications Facilities), and the full suite of accessibility codes and standards (ADA, ABA, local accessibility requirements).
