Job description

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a Senior Electrical/Controls Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design of electrical and controls engineering projects
  • Preparing plans and specifications of electrical systems for bidding and construction
  • Providing construction administration and site visits
  • Mentoring staff
  • Coordinating work and communication between subcontractors, teaming partners and suppliers

Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in electrical or architectural engineering (with an electrical emphasis) from an accredited college or university
  • At least twelve (12) years of relevant electrical and controls engineering experience
  • PE license in any state

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Designing electrical and control systems for public or industrial water/wastewater facilities (water/wastewater collection, pumping/treatment and discharge)
  • Designing water/wastewater collection/treatment control equipment and systems
  • Designing electrical systems using power analysis software (EasyPower and/or SKM Power Tools) and lighting calculation software (Visual Lighting, AGI32, or ElumTools)
  • Designing instrumentation and control equipment and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems and equipment
  • Codes, statutes, standards and laws related to building design and construction
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Mentoring engineers and designers
  • Familiarity with bidding and construction phase and commissioning services
  • Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) or Design-Build project delivery methods
  • Have an active Professional Engineer (PE) license or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire
