Job description

Major/Essential Functions
  • Performs regularly scheduled pickup and disposal of refuse around campus. Additional pickups as required.
  • Refuse is taken to landfill as required. Adheres to all operating/safety rules of disposal trucks.
  • Performs regular pickup and disposal of recycling materials around campus. Maintains proper records.
  • Performs required operator maintenance, checking fluid levels, tires, lights, mirrors and related equipment for safe operation of refuse vehicles.
  • Maintains vehicle, tools, equipment and materials in an orderly and safe condition. Operates vehicles including pickups, trucks and vans. Secures vehicle, equipment and areas of operation.
  • Performs general maintenance duties during slow times including painting dumpsters. Services/repairs dispensers around campus as required.

Preferred Qualifications
*Must have a high school diploma or GED and a CDL.*
*This position requires eligibility to drive TTU vehicles, including a valid U.S. driver license and two years of driving experience.*
