At Ancestry, we connect everyone with their past so they can discover, preserve, and share their unique family stories. The Senior Director of Integrated Marketing Strategy plays a critical role in ensuring that Ancestry's marketing efforts are consumer-led, strategically aligned, and deeply connected to business priorities. This role serves as the strategic architect for integrated marketing-defining and driving a unified brand and communication strategy across the consumer journey. You will partner closely with senior leaders across Brand, Media, Creative, Consumer Insights, Analytics, and Lifecycle Marketing, to ensure campaigns and initiatives are grounded in clear strategy and brought together through a cohesive, intentional approach. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of brand, business, and consumer insight-someone who can craft clarity from complexity and guide cross-functional teams toward a shared, actionable, strategic vision.
What you will do...
Integrated Marketing & Brand Strategy
  • Define and lead annual integrated marketing and communication strategies that align Ancestry's brand, business objectives, and consumer needs.
  • Establish strategic frameworks that guide audience definition, messaging, sequencing, and prioritization across initiatives.
  • Translate business goals and insights into clear strategic direction for campaigns, moments, and always-on marketing efforts.

Consumer Journey Leadership
  • Own the strategic vision for the end-to-end consumer journey, ensuring consistency, relevance, and impact across awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention.
  • Identify key moments that matter and define the role marketing plays at each stage of the journey.
  • Partner with insights and analytics teams to continuously refine journey and messaging strategies based on performance and learning.

Campaign Strategy & Integration
  • Serve as the strategic lead for major integrated campaigns and promotional moments.
  • Ensure alignment across teams and touchpoints by setting clear objectives, audience focus, and communication priorities.
  • Guide how campaigns come together across paid, owned, and earned environments through strong strategic direction and collaboration.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
  • Act as a trusted strategic partner to senior leaders across media, creative, lifecycle, brand, analytics, and product marketing.
  • Influence alignment across marketing and broader business teams without direct ownership of execution.
  • Lead strategic planning and alignment moments that bring multiple disciplines together around shared goals.

Measurement & Strategic Evolution
  • Partner with analytics and channel leaders to define success metrics and learning agendas for integrated strategies.
  • Use performance insights to inform optimization and future strategic development.
  • Champion a test-and-learn mindset to continuously strengthen marketing effectiveness and impact.

Who You Are...
  • 12+ years of experience in integrated marketing strategy, brand strategy, or related leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to define and drive complex, cross-channel marketing strategies in consumer-facing organizations.
  • Deep expertise in consumer journey strategy, messaging architecture, and campaign planning.
  • Comfortable leading through influence in highly matrixed, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong strategic thinker and storyteller, able to connect insight, emotion, and business outcomes.
  • Confident executive presence with the ability to align and inspire senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience in subscription-based, consumer technology, or global brands.
  • Strong partnership experience with media, creative, analytics, and lifecycle teams.
  • Passion for storytelling, heritage, and human connection-the heart of Ancestry's mission.

What You'll Love About Working Here
  • The opportunity to shape how Ancestry's marketing strategy comes together across the consumer journey.
  • A collaborative, high-impact marketing organization built on insight, creativity, and strategic rigor.
  • A mission-driven company helping people understand who they are and where they come from.
