Job description

Role Summary

The Senior Director, PAVE Access Strategy & Marketing is a key leadership role within the US MAPPS (US, Market Access & Pfizer Patient Services) organization, responsible for maximizing the value of Pfizer's PAVE portfolio through differentiated market access strategy, execution, and portfolio optimization.

This leader identifies and advances opportunities to enhance patient access, improve portfolio performance, and extend value across established and later lifecycle brands. Working across Business Units, franchise teams, Access Enablement, and Market Access Operations, the Senior Director drives agile, cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable business impact.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own the U.S. market access strategy for Pfizer's PAVE portfolio, with accountability for optimizing patient access, portfolio performance, pricing, contracting, and long-term value realization across established, post-exclusivity, and later lifecycle brands.
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated market access strategies that maximize portfolio value, enhance access performance, and ensure a fit-for-purpose support model aligned to the unique needs of mature and post-exclusivity assets.
  • Continuously assess portfolio performance, market dynamics, contracting opportunities, channel strategies, and competitive trends to identify opportunities to extend value, drive growth, and improve business outcomes.
  • Establish portfolio priorities and direct resource allocation across the PAVE portfolio, focusing investments and effort on the highest-impact opportunities while balancing risk, return, and organizational capacity.
  • Serve as the strategic market access leader for products transitioning into the PAVE portfolio, ensuring continuity of access, pricing, and contracting strategies while partnering with franchise and business unit leadership to support seamless transitions and sustained performance.
  • Drive the evaluation and execution of targeted market access opportunities through an entrepreneurial, data-driven approach that accelerates decision-making and delivers measurable business impact.
  • Operate within and help shape a streamlined governance model that enables agile decision-making, appropriate risk management, and effective execution across the portfolio.
  • Partner closely with Access Enablement to advance market access opportunities through offer development, deal analytics, pricing strategy, and contracting recommendations that support portfolio objectives.
  • Collaborate with Market Access Operations and Strategic Account Management to ensure effective implementation and execution of access and contracting strategies, translating portfolio priorities into operational and account-level outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships across US Market Access, commercial franchises, and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, remove barriers, and drive coordinated execution of portfolio strategies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team with clear accountability for portfolio outcomes, fostering strategic thinking, agility, ownership, and a portfolio mindset while modeling Pfizer values and leadership behaviors.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 12+ years of experience in the healthcare sector, including demonstrated experience in market access, contracting, or pricing strategy
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracting and pricing strategy across multiple brands or a diverse product portfolio simultaneously.
  • Entrepreneurial orientation: comfortable identifying and pursuing opportunistic, smaller-scale deals without a fully standardized playbook
  • Strong understanding of GTN economics and the trade-offs involved in extending value from mature, post-exclusivity assets
  • Ability to build relationships and identify opportunities across a broad stakeholder network, from BU franchise teams to field-facing account teams
  • Comfort operating with a higher risk tolerance and faster decision cadence than standard brand-contracting governance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing mature, LOE, or established brand portfolios.
  • Prior experience structuring or negotiating opportunistic contracting deals.
  • Experience standing up a new capability or team from scratch.
  • Familiarity with GPO, payer, and channel dynamics across a diversified pharmaceutical portfolio
