SAIC is seeking a Sr. Desktop Engineer (SCCM) for a new/exciting program out of Quantico, VA. (Must possess an active TS/SCI and Sec+ Certification.)

Introduction

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Air Force and Combatant Commands Business Group of SAIC is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer (SCCM) to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation's information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, an cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Desktop Engineering Responsibilities:

Strategic IT Support and Alignment

  • Contribute to the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data input/output devices across DCSA networks, supporting IT modernization and "One IT" initiatives.
  • Align technical efforts with DCSA and DoD policies, procedures, and industry best practices to build a flexible, evolving enterprise IT environment that supports DCSA's mission effectively.

Endpoint Configuration and Management

  • Create and update enterprise desktop images, including non-standard workstation images for standalone systems.
  • Perform quarterly updates and deliveries of enterprise desktop images to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
  • Maintain and secure all enterprise endpoints, ensuring compliance with security standards and functionality requirements.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution

  • Identify, log, and track user-reported issues, such as software conflicts and hardware device malfunctions, through the IT incident ticketing system.
  • Resolve Tier II technical support tickets escalated to the Desktop Engineering team, escalating further if required.
  • Diagnose and recommend solutions for security or functionality issues in desktop images.
  • Assist customers with software installation, peripheral setup, and basic troubleshooting.

Logistics and Asset Management

  • Collaborate with cross-functional DCSA teams, including Data Center Operations (DCO) and Computer Network Defense, to streamline the deployment, patching, securing, sanitizing, and transportation of IT assets.
  • Analyze deployment failures, identify problematic trends, and recommend corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely restoration, maintenance, and replacement of IT equipment, including laptops, tablets, workstations, and peripherals.

Process Improvement and Knowledge Management

  • Recommend and implement technologies, processes, and knowledge management tools to enhance desktop engineering effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update documentation on desktop system/network configurations, software inventory, and automation trends.
  • Contribute to training initiatives for the deployment of new technologies and solutions.
  • Develop and update a knowledge base to facilitate the investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of incidents.

Qualifications

It is required that the Senior Desktop Engineer have the following qualifications:

  • BA/BS and Five (5) or more years of experience in Desktop Support and Data Center Operations or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with SCCM or (MS Endpoint Configuration Manager).
  • IAT-II certification (i.e. Security +).
  • US Citizen and Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
