Join Our Team: About DDS Engineering and Surveying, LLP (DDSE): DDSE is an experienced and highly qualified natural gas/civil engineering, permitting and survey firm that has been performing consulting engineering and construction services in the natural gas industry for many years. We currently perform these engineering services related to natural gas transmission, distribution main design, station design (M&R, gate stations, and regulator stations) and customer services (residential and commercial) for a variety of natural gas customers throughout the Northeast. Our dynamic team is comprised of experienced natural gas engineers, civil and mechanical engineers, surveyors, gas construction personnel as well as in-house staff expertise in the areas of legal, compliance, and safety.

Our Designers are responsible for working with senior level staff to prepare engineering and construction plan documents for a variety of projects. We are currently looking for experienced designers in the mechanical and civil disciplines. The Designer would be responsible for preparing everything from engineering details to complex designs and concept plans, in support of engineering projects. Associated design and drafting for these projects will be performed utilizing primarily AutoCAD software products and can be in 2D or 3D depending on experience and project requirements. This is a fast paced, dynamic position that will require working both independently and as a member of a larger team moving projects from inception through completion.

Designer Pay Range: $26-30/hour

Skills and Experience

Required

  • 0-5 years related experience in an engineering drafting/design role
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with project team members
  • Ability to interact with clients, customers, officials, and contractors

Preferred

  • Degree or certification in Engineering/Drafting related field
  • AutoCAD Map, Civil 3D, and/or Plant 3D experience
  • Experience with 3D modeling and/or site grading
