This position requires 4-7 years of experience, working self-directed on complex problems to deliver multi-team impact. You will provide technical leadership and mentor team members in their professional development. This is an opportunity to contribute to Group 1001's mission of delivering outstanding value through data-driven insights and innovative solutions in the insurance and annuity business.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex data pipelines that support critical business operations and analytics initiatives

  • Architect scalable data solutions that handle growing volumes of insurance data while maintaining performance and reliability

  • Establish data quality frameworks and validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of data across the organization

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on data engineering best practices, design patterns, and technical problem-solving

  • Drive technical decisions on data architecture, tooling, and infrastructure to support evolving business needs

What We're Looking For:

Technical Skills:

Advanced in Python, SQL, RDS, Snowflake, ETL/ELT, Coalesce, Airflow/Dagster, Data warehousing, Stream processing, and Data quality frameworks

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred

Experience:

  • 4-7 years of experience in data engineering or related field

  • Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior team members

  • Track record of designing and implementing scalable solutions that support business growth

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements and priorities

  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience in the insurance or financial services industry with understanding of regulatory requirements

  • Proven success with microservices migration and domain-driven design

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures

  • Proven ability to drive technical decisions and influence architecture direction

  • Strong mentorship skills with track record of developing junior team members

  • Strategic thinking with ability to balance technical excellence and business objectives
