The successful candidates will serve as the onsite engineering presence, working closely with Network, Compute, Storage, Security, Facilities, and third-party vendors to ensure data center infrastructure is installed, maintained, documented, and operated safely and efficiently.

This is an onsite role and is not a remote infrastructure management position.

  • Execute rack-and-stack activities and equipment deployments.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and manage structured cabling, including fiber optic and copper cabling, patch panels, labeling, and cable remediation.
  • Perform physical troubleshooting of infrastructure equipment and connectivity issues.
  • Support hardware break/fix activities and coordinate replacement of failed components.
  • Conduct physical inventory audits, asset verification, and equipment tracking.
  • Support hardware disposal, decommissioning, and reverse logistics activities.

Site Engineering & Infrastructure Support

  • Provide onsite engineering support for Small & Edge Data Centers and third-party colocation facilities.
  • Provide physical oversight during maintenance windows, outages, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
  • Support data center construction, expansion, consolidation, migration, and decommissioning projects.
  • Review and interpret rack elevations, floor plans, network diagrams, equipment layouts, and power utilization.
  • Validate site and infrastructure readiness before implementation.
  • Support site acceptance testing, implementation, and operational turnover activities.

Change & Incident Management

  • Execute approved infrastructure changes during scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and infrastructure restoration activities.
  • Support root-cause investigations through onsite troubleshooting and technical data collection.
  • Validate successful implementation, restoration, and operational readiness following changes.
  • Provide real-time updates during critical incidents and maintenance activities.

Critical Infrastructure Support

  • Support technology infrastructure activities involving UPS systems, PDUs, cooling systems, environmental monitoring systems, generators, and related facility infrastructure.
  • Serve as the technology infrastructure representative during facility maintenance and power-related events.
  • Verify compliance with data center infrastructure, safety, security, and operational standards.
  • Assist with environmental and operational assessments of technology facilities.

Documentation, Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain accurate rack elevation diagrams, cable documentation, asset records, and site documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections and operational readiness reviews.
  • Support physical access management and site security processes.
  • Assist with audit readiness and compliance activities.
  • Ensure all work follows established technology, safety, security, and operational standards.

Vendor Management

  • Ensure vendor work complies with established client standards and requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, data center operations, or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise data centers and/or colocation facilities.
  • Hands-on experience with physical server, storage, networking, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Proven experience with rack installation, rack-and-stack, equipment deployment, and structured cabling.
  • Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling, patching, labeling, and cable remediation.
  • Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical environments.

  • Ability to read and interpret rack elevations, floor plans, network diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with ticketing/workflow systems.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, organizational, and vendor-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • CDCP, CDCE, or equivalent data center certification.
  • Experience supporting financial services, enterprise technology, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Working knowledge of UPS, PDU, HVAC/cooling, generators, and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Experience with data center migrations, site exits, consolidations, build-outs, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, or similar workflow and documentation platforms.
  • Previous experience working directly within third-party colocation facilities.
  • Experience coordinating and managing onsite vendors.
