Overview
The Senior Data Analyst supports the Veterans Health Administration Specialty Care Program Office by providing enterprise data management, reporting, analytics, business intelligence, and automation services supporting specialty care programs, healthcare transformation initiatives, Oracle Health modernization efforts, PACT Act implementation, budget management, and organizational performance improvement activities. This position develops data-driven solutions that support executive decision-making across national healthcare programs.
The work is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring strong clinical informatics expertise, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure during critical implementation and stabilization periods.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, implement, maintain, and enhance databases, dashboards, scorecards, reports, and performance measurement tools.
  • Gather, validate, reconcile, and analyze data from multiple VA and VHA data sources.
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and executive-level reporting solutions.
  • Build automated data acquisition and reporting processes using Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
  • Support integration of contractor-developed solutions with authorized VA systems and enterprise data repositories.
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, trend analyses, forecasting models, and operational assessments supporting healthcare and business operations.
  • Convert legacy Excel-based business processes into modern Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Create administrator guides, end-user documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer artifacts.
  • Present findings and recommendations to program managers, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Support performance measurement, program evaluation, strategic planning, and enterprise reporting activities.
  • Analyze healthcare, operational, and financial data to identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support development of budget, workload, resource allocation, and utilization analyses for leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive data analytics experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, Health Information Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field. Master's preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Experience supporting VA, VHA, federal healthcare, or Federal healthcare delivery organizations.
  • Working knowledge of VHA data repositories including:
    • Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW)
    • VistA
    • VSSC
    • RAMP
    • MedSAS/PTF
    • MCA
    • PCMM
    • NPCD
    • VETSNET
  • Experience designing executive dashboards and operational performance reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, analytics methodologies, and business intelligence practices.
  • Experience supporting advanced analytics, automation, and emerging data-driven technologies preferred
  • Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain a Federal security clearance/NACI background investigation.
