Job description

Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a full time Sr. Relationship Manager to join our team at our Seattle Administrative Offices. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person.

The Sr. Relationship Manager calls on prospective and existing middle market businesses with financing needs that can be met with minimally complex analyses, underwriting, structuring, and documentation. Maintains a pipeline of prospective and existing clients for acquisition and expansion of client relationships. Maintains a portfolio of middle market or specific industry client relationships with moderately complex monitoring requirements and ensuring compliance with all loan covenant, conditions, and regulatory requirements. May be asked to handle client relationships with more complex needs. Must work independently and can meet goals of job with some oversight or coaching needed.

What you will do:

  • Manages a portfolio of middle-market client relationships with moderate complexities in financial analysis, underwriting, or structuring and/or representing an industry concentrations requiring industry expertise. Monitors the relationship to ensure ongoing credit quality and compliance with loan terms. Initiates and oversees fulfillment of the end-to-end processes for loan renewals and modifications. Initiates appropriate and timely actions for any defaults to loan covenants or conditions of approval.

  • Calls on new and existing clients to create and maintain a robust pipeline of new business; initiates or strengthens assigned banking relationships and identifies and acts on opportunities to expand the relationships. Monitor for competitive information and take appropriate action if necessary to retain client relationships. Provides suitable advice and counsel to existing and potential customers. Studies industrial, commercial, economic and financial situations relating to the business to offer advice, if appropriate.

  • Prepares quality credit presentations of moderate to significant complexity, justifying the credit request that is supported with comprehensive financial and non-financial analyses, appropriate identification of risks and risk mitigations, and structuring and pricing consistent with Bank policies and guidelines.

  • Mentors and assists credit analysts, underwriters, and less experienced relationship managers in appropriate structuring of credit requests to best meet client needs while adhering to Bank policies and risk profiles.

  • Participates in industry, civic, and community events to build a network of referral sources and to generate business leads. Supports the Bank's Brand and mission internally and externally. Supports Brand awareness through marketing efforts and community outreach.

  • Must be able to travel throughout bank's footprint to perform required duties (50- 60%)

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 7 years of Commercial Lending experience is required.

  • Graduates Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance is preferred.

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field is preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, the general public and professional peers. A solid understanding of business and banking terminology.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to business related situations. Basic understanding of accounting, including financial statement and credit analysis skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Demonstrated negotiation skills.

  • Ability to create new word processing and spreadsheet files using generally accepted formats. Ability to use data base programs and other banking specific programs and to access reports. Ability to use software documentation and help features. Aptitude for learning advanced features and specialized software programs.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients, loan requests, deadlines and other priorities.

  • Business development skills.

  • Comfortable selling to prospects, networking, cold calling and speaking before groups.

  • Utilizes critical and creative thinking skills.

Pay Range: $108,000.00 - $194,600.00annually
