Senior Conversation Designer information

What is a senior conversation designer?

A Senior Conversation Designer is a professional who specializes in creating effective and natural-sounding dialogues for conversational interfaces, such as chatbots, voice assistants, and other AI-powered platforms. They are responsible for mapping out user journeys, designing conversational flows, and ensuring the interactions are engaging, intuitive, and aligned with business goals. Senior Conversation Designers often lead teams, mentor junior designers, and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and UX researchers to deliver seamless conversational experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior conversation designer?

To thrive as a Senior Conversation Designer, you need expertise in linguistics, UX writing, human-centered design, and typically a background in fields such as communications, linguistics, or computer science. Familiarity with conversational AI platforms (like Dialogflow, Amazon Lex, or Microsoft Bot Framework), prototyping tools, and analytics systems is crucial. Strong collaboration, empathy, and creative problem-solving set top designers apart, enabling them to craft engaging and effective user experiences. These skills are essential for creating natural, intuitive conversations that drive user satisfaction and business outcomes.

How do senior conversation designers typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during the development of conversational AI products?

Senior Conversation Designers regularly work alongside product managers, engineers, UX designers, and data scientists to ensure conversational AI experiences are user-friendly and effective. They contribute by translating business requirements into dialogue flows, iterating on prototypes based on user feedback, and aligning the conversation style with the brand voice. Frequent team workshops, design reviews, and agile sprint meetings are common, making strong communication and collaboration skills essential for success in this role.

Job description

Residential Landscape is looking for a Landscape Designer who can take a homeowner's ideas even when they're still rough and turn them into an outdoor space that works with the property. We design for real homes and real families, so we're interested in practical creativity, not designs that only look good on paper.

You'll be involved from the first property visit through installation, working with customers and our field team to make sure the finished landscape stays true to the plan.

What the Work Looks Like

  • Meet with homeowners, walk their properties, and understand what they want to change or create.
  • Develop landscape concepts for new yards, renovations, planting areas, patios, xeriscapes, outdoor living spaces, and other residential projects.
  • Select plants, trees, materials, and landscape features appropriate for Colorado properties and conditions.
  • Prepare layouts, sketches, plans, and other information the installation crew can actually work from.
  • Consider drainage, irrigation, sunlight, existing structures, property conditions, and long-term maintenance when developing a design.
  • Work with estimators and project staff to keep designs realistic for the customer's budget.
  • Present ideas to homeowners, listen to their feedback, and make revisions where they improve the project.
  • Stay involved during installation and answer design questions that come up once work begins.
  • Coordinate with crews on hardscaping, irrigation, planting, lighting, retaining walls, and other parts of the project.
  • Keep project drawings, selections, notes, and customer changes organized.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with residential landscape design, horticulture, landscape construction, or a closely related field.
  • A good understanding of plants and materials suited to Colorado's climate.
  • Ability to balance appearance, function, budget, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Experience preparing landscape plans by hand or with design/CAD software.
  • Comfortable meeting homeowners and discussing design choices without overcomplicating the conversation.
  • Degree or training in landscape design, horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related area is preferred.
  • Knowledge of xeriscaping, irrigation, hardscaping, and water-wise landscape design is a strong plus.

Benefits

  • $58,000 – $82,000 annual salary, depending on experience and design background.
  • Health insurance options.
  • Paid vacation and personal time.
  • Paid company holidays.
  • Retirement plan options.
  • Mileage reimbursement for approved project travel.
  • Professional development and industry training.
  • Opportunity to work on projects from initial concept through completed installation.
  • Room to grow into senior design, estimating, or landscape project management.
