Location: Hybrid (Nashville, TN area)
Key Accountabilities
Build & Scale the Accounting Function
  • Partner with the Controller to transition accounting responsibilities from outsourced providers to an internal accounting team.
  • Develop and implement scalable accounting processes that support a rapidly growing, multi-location healthcare organization.

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes and improve efficiency through technology and AI-enabled tools.

Financial Close & General Accounting
  • Own significant portions of the monthly close process.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Research and apply U.S. GAAP guidance to complex accounting transactions.
  • Support intercompany accounting, allocations, and consolidation activities.
  • Assist with accounting for acquisitions, new center openings, and other strategic growth initiatives.

Specialized Accounting Areas
  • Own the monthly accounting for lease activity, including new leases, modifications, terminations, amortization, and related reconciliations in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Prepare and review revenue and accounts receivable accounting, including reconciliations, reserve analyses, and month-end reporting in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Prepare payroll accounting entries and reconciliations, including wages, payroll taxes, employee benefits, bonus accruals, and other compensation-related accounts.
  • Analyze complex accounting transactions and prepare supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Research technical accounting matters and prepare accounting memorandums to support significant accounting conclusions when needed.
  • Assist with accounting for acquisitions, new center openings, and other strategic growth initiatives.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, Operations, Revenue Cycle, and Human Resources.
  • Support system enhancements, implementations, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as the company continues to grow.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA required
  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Previous experience with a Big 4 or nationally recognized Top 10 public accounting firm.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge under U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases).
  • Experience managing complex month-end close responsibilities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Systems Experience
  • Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, analyze data, or enhance accounting workflows.
  • Strong Excel skills with ability to work with large data sets
