Job description

Job Description Our client, EAG, is a service-focused firm supporting companies across the energy and industrial sectors. We help clients solve complex operational, commercial, and technology challenges through practical expertise, disciplined execution, and trusted partnership. As EAG continues to grow, we are expanding our presence beyond traditional upstream energy into adjacent markets-including midstream, renewables, mining, manufacturing, and companies supporting the broader energy and industrial ecosystem.

A key part of this growth strategy is the development of a high-quality, technology-forward content platform serving the Energy, Natural Resources, Industrial, and Manufacturing industries. We are seeking a Senior Content Strategist & Writer to lead that effort. Position Summary The Senior Content Strategist & Writer will serve as the primary editorial voice and content engine behind EAG's digital magazine and broader content marketing platform.

This role is responsible for researching, writing, and producing authoritative, engaging content across the energy, natural resources, industrial, and manufacturing sectors-content that builds EAG's brand authority, supports business development, and delivers genuine value to an industry audience. This is a hands-on writing and research role for an experienced content professional who combines strong editorial instincts with the intellectual curiosity to go deep on complex, technical, and niche industry topics. The ideal candidate brings direct energy industry knowledge, the ability to research unfamiliar sectors thoroughly and quickly, and a commitment to producing content that is accurate, well-sourced, and worth reading.

Responsibilities Content Research & Writing Research and write high-quality long-form articles, features, industry analyses, and editorial content for EAG's digital magazine serving the Energy, Natural Resources, Industrial, and Manufacturing industries. Identify and develop compelling story angles, trend pieces, and subject-matter-driven content across both familiar and unfamiliar industry niches-conducting thorough research to ensure accuracy, credibility, and depth. Source, synthesize, and interpret technical and industry-specific information from trade publications, regulatory filings, research reports, subject matter experts, and primary interviews.

Maintain consistent editorial quality across all content-well-structured, clearly written, appropriately sourced, and calibrated for a professional industry readership. Write across multiple formats including feature articles, executive commentary, sector briefings, Q&As, product spotlights, and issue-focused editorial pieces. Content Strategy & Editorial Planning Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Media and senior leadership to develop and maintain an editorial calendar aligned with EAG's growth markets, sector priorities, and business development objectives.

Contribute strategic input on topic selection, audience targeting, sector coverage priorities, and content positioning that differentiates the magazine in a competitive landscape. Monitor industry news, regulatory developments, technology trends, and market signals across covered sectors to proactively identify timely, relevant content opportunities. Help define and maintain the editorial voice, standards, and formatting conventions for the platform.

Digital & Technology-Forward Publishing Write and structure content with digital-first publishing in mind-SEO-aware, format-optimized, and designed for engagement across digital channels including web, email, and social distribution. Work comfortably within content management systems, digital publishing tools, and modern editorial workflows. Leverage available research tools, databases, and technology resources-including AI-assisted research workflows-to increase research efficiency without compromising content integrity or accuracy.

Coordinate with the Senior Multimedia Producer and other team members to ensure written content aligns with visual, video, and multimedia components of each publication. Brand & Marketing Content Support Support broader EAG marketing content needs as directed, including thought leadership articles, website copy, service line content, executive ghostwriting, campaign materials, and industry-facing communications. Ensure all content reflects EAG's brand voice, professional standards, and positioning as a trusted authority in the energy and industrial services space.

Collaborate with Business Development and subject matter experts across EAG's service lines to develop content that reinforces market credibility and supports pipeline development. Qualifications 7+ years of professional writing and content experience, with a portfolio demonstrating depth, range, and editorial quality across long-form and digital formats. Demonstrated experience writing about the energy industry-upstream, midstream, renewables, energy technology, or adjacent sectors-with the ability to write authoritatively and accurately on technical and commercial topics.

Proven research skills: ability to independently identify credible sources, synthesize complex information, and produce accurate content in sectors where the candidate may not have prior experience. Experience with digital publishing, content management systems, editorial workflows, SEO best practices, and content distribution across multiple channels. Experience writing for or contributing to a trade publication, industry magazine, digital media platform, or content-driven marketing organization strongly preferred.

Comfortable working with AI-assisted research and writing tools while maintaining strict standards for factual accuracy, source attribution, and original editorial voice. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple articles, deadlines, and research tracks simultaneously. Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field; or equivalent demonstrated professional writing experience.

Preferred qualifications and qualities: Is an exceptional writer-clear, precise, and engaging-who takes editorial quality seriously. Is a disciplined researcher who digs until the story is right, not just until a deadline is met. Knows the energy industry well and is intellectually curious enough to become conversant quickly in adjacent sectors-midstream, renewables, critical minerals, manufacturing, and beyond.

Understands that a great industry publication requires both editorial integrity and strategic intent-content that informs readers and advances EAG's market position simultaneously. Is comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where initiative and self-direction are valued. Brings a collaborative approach to working with multimedia, design, and business development colleagues to create content that is visually compelling, strategically aligned, and audience-relevant.

Has the writing portfolio to prove it. What success looks like: Within the first 60 days, the Senior Content Strategist & Writer will have developed a working familiarity with EAG's service lines, priority growth markets, and editorial vision; built a pipeline of article concepts and research in progress; and published initial content that reflects the quality standard the platform requires. Within six months, the role will have established a consistent publishing cadence, developed expertise in the sectors most critical to EAG's growth strategy, and produced a body of work that builds reader trust and positions EAG as a credible voice in its markets.

Within twelve months, the Senior Content Strategist & Writer will have contributed materially to EAG's brand authority, digital audience development, and the ongoing evolution of the magazine into a recognized resource for the energy and industrial professional community.
