Job description

Concierge / Front Desk Receptionist
Part-Time
Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
Oakmont of Novato | Novato, CA
At Oakmont of Novato, we believe that every interaction is an opportunity to make someone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
As our Concierge / Front Desk Receptionist, you are often the first smile someone sees when they walk through our doors, the familiar voice a resident turns to when they need help, and the reassuring presence a family member comes to know and trust.
You are more than the person behind the front desk, you are the heart of our welcome and the first impression of our community.
In senior living, the little things matter. Remembering a resident's name. Greeting a family member with a smile. Answering the phone with warmth and professionalism. Helping someone find what they need. Taking an extra moment to listen to a story. Offering reassurance to a new resident or family walking through our doors during an important transition in their lives.
Those moments may seem simple, but together they create something incredibly meaningful: the feeling of being home.
If you are organized, professional, genuinely enjoy people, and take pride in creating an exceptional experience for others, we would love to meet you.

Your Role & Impact
As our Concierge / Front Desk Receptionist, you help set the tone for the entire community. You create an atmosphere that feels warm, polished, organized, and genuinely welcoming while serving as an important connection point between our residents, families, visitors, prospective residents, and team members.
Your responsibilities include:
  • Welcoming residents, families, prospective residents, and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.

  • Building meaningful relationships with residents and becoming a familiar, trusted presence in their daily lives.
  • Answering a multi-line telephone system and directing calls accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Assisting residents and families with questions and requests with patience, kindness, and a desire to help.
  • Monitoring the Emergency Alert System and responding immediately and appropriately to every call.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail, packages, deliveries, and other front desk responsibilities.
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to community leadership.
  • Helping maintain a front desk and lobby environment that is polished, organized, safe, and welcoming.
  • Working collaboratively across departments and contributing to a culture where everyone takes pride in caring for our residents and one another.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who understands that great hospitality isn't simply what you doit's how you make people feel.
You may be a great fit if you:
  • Naturally enjoy meeting, welcoming, and helping people.
  • Have a warm, approachable personality with a professional presence.
  • Take pride in creating an exceptional first impression.
  • Are organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing phones, visitors, resident requests, and administrative responsibilities.

  • Want to be part of a workplace where kindness and human connection truly matter.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

This can be something more.
At Oakmont, the front desk is at the center of our community. You'll celebrate birthdays, welcome grandchildren, hear incredible stories, help new residents feel comfortable, share laughter, solve problems, and build relationships with people you might never otherwise have had the opportunity to know.

That's hospitality with purpose.

Come be the first smile, the familiar voice, and the warm welcome that makes Oakmont feel like home.
