Position Overview:
The Senior Estimator is a full-time, exempt position. This position is responsible for estimating the work of particular projects by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and other related documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, research, and analyze bid documents, site condition, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics.
  • Obtain subcontractor and material quotes; seek potential cost savings.
  • Develop pricing for proposed work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Present prepared estimates to management.
  • Prepare and schedule turn over meetings and documents to ensure that the Project Managers and operations teams understand the entire scope of work, budgets, productions, and schedules prior to the start of construction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Senior Estimator
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and projects at the same time.
  • In-depth knowledge of bidding process.
  • Hands-on experience with complex data research activities.
  • Strong computer skills; Experience with bidding software, such as Bid2Win, and AGTEK software.
  • Basic Geometry and math skills.
  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing with employees at all levels.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and abilities listed qualifies.
  • Three (3) or more years of construction estimating experience; Preference given to underground heavy civil utility construction experience.
  • Successful candidates will have established relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and developers in the Charlotte market.

Work Hours: The normal work hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:pm at the CK Contractors and Development, LLC headquarters located Kings Mountain, NC.
