Senior CAD Designer / Water Feature Design Specialist

Location: Tampa, FL
Salary: $90,000 - $130,000+ (Flexible Based on Experience)

An internationally recognized leader in the design and construction of custom water features for landmark commercial projects around the world. Our projects combine architecture, engineering, hydraulics, and artistry to create iconic fountains, water displays, and specialty features for developers, municipalities, resorts, and commercial properties.

We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior CAD Designer / Water Feature Design Specialist to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on unique, high-profile projects while participating in the complete project lifecycle-from initial concept development through installation and commissioning.


Position Summary

The ideal candidate will possess strong 3D CAD design capabilities and experience within the water feature, commercial fountain, aquatics, pool, mechanical, or related construction industries. We are specifically seeking professionals who understand the design and coordination of water systems, piping layouts, equipment rooms, hydraulic systems, and specialty architectural elements.

Candidates with direct commercial fountain or water feature design experience are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and draft custom water feature and granite projects utilizing advanced 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Develop piping layouts, hydraulic systems, equipment room layouts, piping schematics, and fabricated equipment package designs.
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle, including client meetings, design development, project coordination, installation support, and owner training.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and internal project teams.
  • Create detailed construction drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation packages.
  • Review project specifications, plans, and technical requirements to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
  • Assist with troubleshooting design and installation challenges throughout project execution.
  • Support field installation teams through site visits and technical guidance.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute innovative design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of CAD drafting and design experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Experience designing within a related industry such as:
    • Water features
    • Commercial fountains
    • Aquatics
    • Swimming pools
    • Mechanical systems
    • HVAC systems
    • Industrial process piping
    • Specialty construction projects
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience developing piping layouts, mechanical systems, and equipment room designs.

  • Direct commercial fountain or water feature design experience.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and water circulation systems.

  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction projects.
