RH2 Engineering is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team in our Bothell / Bellevue / Tacoma / East Wenatchee, WA location. About the Job

This Senior Structural Engineer will be lead the RH2 Structural Engineering group with full responsibility for the group workload, staff development, and technical excellence. The Senior Structural Engineer will work with clients on projects involving structural designs including foundations, steel, timber, masonry, concrete and prestressed concrete structures from conceptualization, analysis, and design through construction.
With your skills you will:

  • Lead RH2's structural engineering group including setting work priorities and allocating resources
  • Design of wood, masonry, steel, aluminum and concrete structures for the Water/Wastewater Industry
  • Provide QA/QC review of structural design drawings and calculations
  • Development of design drawings, specifications and cost estimates
  • Function as Project Manager for projects that include area of expertise as a major component
  • Lead marketing and interview efforts to expand client base and service offerings
  • Actively participate in industry groups and associations
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including mentoring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; and addressing complaints and resolving problems

What you'll bring:

  • B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited University with emphasis in structural engineering
  • 15 - 25 years of transferrable skills and experience preferably in public sector consulting and structural engineering
  • Exposure to multiple disciplines including general civil, structural, and mechanical engineering is a plus
  • Experience managing municipal and public-sector projects (federal, state, city and county) is a plus
  • Reservoir design experience a plus
  • Ability to form and enhance business relationships and make connections within the industry
  • Ability to present information, ideas and concepts to mid-sized audiences
  • Ability to manage projects from design through construction providing exceptional services
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare project proposals and budgets
  • Ability to successfully solve complex problems that require new, adaptation or modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High energy and the flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams in multiple offices
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound professional judgement
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, and understand English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Word preferred at an intermediate skill level, advanced Microsoft Excel skill level

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Current P.E. license in Washington or Oregon required
  • Current S.E. license in Washington or Oregon required
  • Ability and willingness to obtain P.E. and S.E. license in the other state if not currently licensed in both Washington and Oregon

Compensation counts:

RH2 has an excellent multi-component compensation package built to recognize and financially reward our employees' contributions throughout their career with the company. Individual base compensation will vary within the range of $70.00-$105.00/hour and will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position. RH2 values our employees' work/life balance and compensates for overtime at 1.5 times the base rate for hours exceeding 40 regular hours in a work week. This position is eligible for RH2's performance bonus, which is equivalent to one month's pay. Time in position, and individual and company performance requirements apply.
