About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to serve as a technical anchor and leader within our engineering organization. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for structural integrity, guiding the development process and driving engineering best practices across the department. You will lead design activities for non‑gas path components, coordinate cross‑functional systems integration, and spearhead advanced finite element analysis (FEA) to define critical component life limits. This position requires a unique blend of deep analytical expertise in mechanics of materials, technical leadership, and a proven track record of managing complex engineering configurations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process & Best Practices Leadership: Manage the overall structural development process and actively establish, document, and drive engineering best practices.
  • Component Design & Support: Contribute to design and optimization activities for complex components and provide analytical support and cross‑functional coordination to other engineering groups.
  • Advanced Stress Analysis & Life: Support numerical stress analysis activities and define component life limits for both static and rotating hardware.
  • Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA): Carry out complex FMEAs and advanced analytical problem‑solving involving aeroelasticity, penetrating collisions, and highly non‑linear response problems.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the organization's technical authority on mechanics of materials, structural integrity, and numerical simulation.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Technical Leadership: 15+ years of engineering and technical leadership experience, with a proven track record of coordinating various functional groups and managing systems integration.
  • Component Life: 2+ years of dedicated experience performing component life calculations for static and rotating components, explicitly including fatigue, creep, and oxidation.
  • Desirable Asset: Prior experience with Fluid‑Structure Interaction (FSI)/aeroelasticity is highly desirable.
Technical Skill Requirements
  • Core Mechanics: Advanced, deep‑rooted knowledge of mechanics of materials.
  • Computational Methods: Detailed, foundational understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and numerical methods.
  • CAD Tools: Proficiency with standard 2D/3D CAD software (Onshape preferred).
  • Technical Computing & Simulation (Preferred): Strong proficiency in software development and technical computing for automation or analysis, specifically with:
    • FEA / FSI simulation packages (LsDyna preferred)
    • Python
    • Matlab
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.
  • A high‑visibility leadership role with direct influence over product development processes and team standards.
