Job Description:

The Sr. Competitive Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) position plays a vital role within the greater Product Management team, providing competitive analysis and intelligence of the HPE Networking portfolio to the product management and sales teams. Members of the Competitive TME team extensively collaborate with Field, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams which all have their unique needs. Outbound, the Competitive TME will be involved in providing Field and Partner-facing technical content, presentations, and Executive Briefings.


The successful candidate will ensure effective communication of HPE Networking's competitive advantages over the competition with relevance to customer use cases, while also capturing valuable product feedback in the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with technical experts across a range of HPE product and functional areas, including but not limited to L2/L3 switching protocols (STP, RADIUS, TACACS, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, etc.) and other networking services relevant to Enterprise solutions and deployments.
  • Bring up network topologies of varying complexities and compare other vendors solutions to HPE in a lab environment
  • Understanding of Campus Fabric deployments such as ESI-LAG and VxLAN/EVPN.
  • Be actively engaged in various HPE events like Sales kickoffs, HPE TechJam, HPE Discover, etc. to conduct live demos as well as presentation/hands-on-lab sessions for field, partner, and customer engineers.
  • Generate technical collateral which includes testing and comparing Aruba and Third-Party vendor solutions creating competitive analysis reports, interoperability and migration guides; and assist in development and delivery of competitive updates when required
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations for System Engineers and partners

Required Skills:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Hands-on experience building customer networks with a non-technical degree can substitute.
  • Understanding of networking technologies and protocols including switching and routing
  • Good communication skills and comfort with public speaking
  • You can translate complex technical concepts to understandable language to match the level of the audience

Preferred Skills:

  • Well recognized industry certifications such as CCNA, CCIE, ACSA, ACSX
