The Senior Communications Strategy Manager is a master-level strategist responsible for shaping high-impact, integrated communication initiatives that advance organizational objectives and strengthen alignment across diverse audiences. This senior role provides elevated strategic leadership, deeper narrative development expertise, and mentorship to other communication strategy team members, all while leading their assigned Communication Content Specialist.
Senior Communications Strategy Managers drive clarity, cohesion, and innovation within the company's storytelling approach. They partner closely with marketing communications leadership, cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives that reinforce the company's brand and purpose. This role combines strategic insight, creative thinking, and proactive problem solving to elevate the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of communication efforts across the organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in communication strategy, marketing communications, or related disciplines.
  • Proven ability to create compelling narratives that simplify complex ideas and deepen audience engagement.
  • Strong writing, messaging, presentation, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience mentoring others and influencing decisions across teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving alignment across multiple teams.

Travel: 5-10%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads development of integrated communication strategies for complex or high-visibility initiatives.
  • Translates business goals, data, and stakeholder needs into clear and engaging narrative frameworks, message maps, and storytelling assets.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to internal customers, guiding narrative direction and shaping communication plans that align with organizational priorities.
  • Crafts compelling, audience-centered messaging that connects emotionally and drives action.
  • Elevates the organization's narrative through consistent application of brand voice, tone, and storytelling principles.
  • Develops and refines messaging for presentations, internal communications, campaigns, and digital content.
  • Partners with leaders across FTI to ensure message alignment and cohesive delivery across channels.
  • Provides strategic clarity and direction during ambiguous, fast-paced, or emerging situations, including rapid-response communication needs.
  • Supports onboarding, knowledge sharing, and ongoing development within the communication strategy function.
  • Promotes a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and innovative thinking.
  • Monitors and analyzes the performance of communication strategies and campaigns, making data-driven recommendations to enhance effectiveness.
  • Identifies gaps and opportunities in communication processes, tools, and workflows to strengthen quality and efficiency.
  • Champions enhancements to communication strategy methods and storytelling quality across the team.
  • Mentors other communication strategy team members on storytelling, processes and communication skills.
  • Manages direct reports (e.g. content specialist), offering coaching and career development opportunities.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
