Summary:
This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with extensive experience in product management. The candidate should have a high level of curiosity about our customers' needs and be able to translate their needs into a clear and concise message to help develop solutions. The candidate also needs to have experience with product marketing in order to craft a successful Go to market approach, and provide the support needed for enabling Sales team to make the product successful in the market. The successful candidate needs to be a creative and resourceful team player, working closely with all functions at Covaris (Marketing, Sales, Applications, Business development, R&D, Manufacturing, and Engineering).This position will be located on-site at our global headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts. This role is for a newly launched product area in Whole Blood collection and Extraction System, and will span responsibilities across technical product management (voice of customer, requirements, business case, pricing, roadmap, and Go/No-Go) and product marketing / go-to-market (positioning, messaging, segmentation, competitive intelligence, and sales enablement).
Essential Responsibilities:
The employee may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity:
  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, lifecycle management, and NPI backlog / sustaining-request prioritization for their product line; refresh the strategy at least half-yearly as an input to the annual operating plan.
  • Build and maintain competitive intelligence and market-trend analysis for the product line
  • Own go-to-market deliverables: value proposition, positioning and messaging, customer segmentation and targeting, and the product launch plan for the top application areas.
  • Create and maintain sales enablement assets as well as lead product training to the sales team
  • Drive in-market Voice-of-Customer in partnership with customer facing teams
  • Act as the subject-matter expert and single owner for their product line.
  • Coordinate the deployment of materials to Covaris' distribution partners.
  • Create and own technical product requirements, business cases, revenue models, revenue and pipeline goals for their products
  • Own adoption and revenue for the product line along with setting metrics, goals, governance and reporting to senior leadership
  • Maintain deep domain expertise sample collection market, competition and trends
  • Ownership of progress and completion of New product developments in their application area including launch plan

Qualifications:
  • Preferred advanced degree in a biological field with experience in genomics and/or next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows. Experience with blood/sample collection market and applications; experience in Proteomics or oncology is a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in product management and/or product marketing, preferably in the life sciences or diagnostics industry.
  • Extensive experience in presenting to Senior leadership, synthesizing information, story-telling
  • Adept at building business case models, revenue and pipeline modeling, price modeling
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications - Excel, PPT, PowerBI
  • Critical thinking skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable plans.

Preferred Qulaifications:
  • Experience branding products for life science and clinical markets will be beneficial.
  • Experience launching FDA-listed or regulated products (e.g., under an ISO 13485 quality system) and working within a structured phase-gate NPI process is a plus.
  • 25-30% travel (domestic and international) for customer visits, co-travel with commercial teams, and key conferences
