Teamwork is more than just a buzzword for us, it's a state of mind. We believe happy employees do amazing work, so join our team NOW! We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior AV Engineerย  for a Full-Time position.

Job Summary:

The Seniorย AVย Engineer keeps WMATA's mission-criticalย AVย environments running flawlessly - supporting the RGB Spectrum video wall system and delivering comprehensive audio-visual support for critical operations centers and enterpriseย AVย environments across WMATA facilities. You'll ownย AVย system design, monitoring, lifecycle management, and routine health assessments that keep these systems highlyย available, reliable, and always ready for operations. You'll provide technical leadership across enterprise audio-visual systems, including Crestron-controlled environments, conference room collaboration platforms, and video wall infrastructure. This is hands-on, high-impact work: supporting, integrating, and modernizingย AVย technologies, spotting aging and end-of-life systems before they fail, and recommending what to upgrade next. You'll also ensureย AVย solutions integrate seamlessly with enterprise IT infrastructure and keep program leadership and stakeholders in the loop in plain language. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting and modifying enterprise audio-visual control systems, including Crestron-controlled environments, within mission-critical settings such as command centers, video wall systems, and executiveย AVย environments - but if you've done this work and can point to it, we want to hear from you, even if you don't match every line below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support for the RGB Spectrum video wall system and associatedย AVย control systems.
  • Recommend and implement design revisions for video wall layouts andย AVย control configurations.
  • Address IT system maintenance and support for video walls, conference roomย AVย systems, and operations center environments.
  • Monitorย AVย devices across the WMATA environment to assess system health, performance, and reliability.
  • Identify end-of-life (EOL)ย AVย technologies and recommend modernization or replacement strategies.
  • Design and implement customย AVย solutions using industry-standard technologies including Crestron, AMX, Extron, and similar platforms.
  • Program and configure Crestron control systems and support integration ofย AVย technologies with enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Coordinate device servicing, preventative maintenance, and proactive upgrades forย AVย systems.
  • Collaborate with Service Desk Management and infrastructure teams to establish response policies andย AVย support best practices.
  • Communicate with senior leadership and key stakeholders regardingย AVย initiatives, system upgrades, and operational needs.
  • Perform regular system health checks and provide periodic reports outlining system performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintainย AVย documentation including system diagrams, configuration documentation, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Support a full range of audio-visual equipment and control systems beyond Crestron, ensuring comprehensive coverage and integration across WMATA'sย AVย environment.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Crestron-controlledย AVย environments.
  • Experience with Crestron programming and configuration ofย AVย control systems.
  • Experience integratingย AVย technologies with enterprise IT infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterpriseย AVย systems including conference rooms, control systems, and collaboration technologies.
  • Experience troubleshootingย AVย control systems, video distribution, and integratedย AVย environments.
  • Knowledge ofย AVย system architecture, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform system diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and operational reporting.
  • Some supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience - e.g., guiding juniorย technicians or coordinatingย AVย support staff.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions and system updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting RGB Spectrum video wall systems or similar enterprise video wall platforms.
  • Experience with Crestron Fusion and Crestron Toolbox.
  • Experience with AMX, Extron, or otherย AVย control platforms.
  • Experience supporting critical operations center environments.
  • AVIXA certifications (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) or similarย AVย industry certifications.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or governmentย AVย environments
