Summary

Programs and optimizes CNC machining processes for all company equipment, provides advanced technical leadership, and oversees machining plan development for customer parts, tooling, and molds. Supports training and skill development for machinists and contributes to shop process standardization and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Program all supported CNC machines using MasterCAM, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, and Vericut.
  • Develop machining plans, toolpaths, cutters, fixturing, and setups for complex aerospace, defense, and commercial components.
  • Perform program verification, collision checks, and optimization using simulation tools.
  • Support machinists by providing training on machine controls, offsets, probing, setup methods, and blueprint reading.
  • Design and maintain tooling, fixtures, workholding, and setup documentation.
  • Optimize machining processes for cycle time, tool life, and part quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering on prototypes, NPI, and production runs.
  • Lead root-cause analysis on quality issues and initiate corrective actions.
  • Maintain ITAR, FOD, AS9100, safety, and process compliance.
  • Standardize tool libraries, workflow processes, machining parameters, and documentation across the machining department.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of CNC programming and advanced machining experience
  • Expert knowledge of CAM programming for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling, turning, and mill/turn operations.
  • Experience standardizing machining workflows and leading training initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret complex prints, models, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor machinists of varying skill levels.
