What does a senior CNC machine setup do?

A Senior CNC Machine Setup is responsible for preparing, configuring, and calibrating computer numerical control (CNC) machines for production runs. This role involves reading blueprints, selecting tools, setting machine parameters, and performing test runs to ensure parts meet specifications. Senior CNC setup technicians also troubleshoot issues, maintain equipment, and may mentor junior operators. Their expertise ensures efficient and precise manufacturing processes in a variety of industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior CNC machine setup, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior CNC Machine Setup, you need advanced knowledge of CNC machining, blueprint reading, and precision measurement, typically supported by experience or technical certification in machining.
