What You'll Accomplish With Us

As a Senior Claims Adjuster, External Road, you will be at the center of our mission. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Travelling to loss sites to investigate claims, analyze circumstances, and negotiate settlements in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures;
  • Handling complex residential insurance claims, including hidden defects, bodily injury cases, and losses exceeding $50,000;
  • Coordinating the various stakeholders and experts involved in claims under your responsibility;
  • Evaluating recovery opportunities, controlling damages, and validating claim eligibility based on applicable coverage;
  • Negotiating settlements, preparing comprehensive reports within required timelines, and settling claims within your authority level.

What Will Help You Succeed in This Role

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is recognized for excellent judgment, strong analytical skills, and keen attention to detail;
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation abilities and sound decision-making skills in complex situations;
  • Works autonomously, takes ownership, and excels at managing priorities;
  • Is known for a client-focused approach, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Has at least 10 years of experience as a field claims adjuster;
  • Holds a College Diploma (DEC), Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in insurance, or another relevant field of study;
  • Holds a Claims Adjuster Licence issued by the Autorite des marches financiers (AMF);
  • Holds the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation (an asset);
  • Is proficient with computer applications, including Excel and Word;
  • Demonstrates a high level of mobility and schedule flexibility;
  • Lives on the South Shore of Montreal or in the surrounding area;
  • Is fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written), as the incumbent will be required to communicate regularly with French- and English-speaking insureds, suppliers, and business partners as part of claim investigations and settlements on a regular basis.
