Job description

Koniag Management Solutions, LLC (KMS), a Koniag Government Services (KGS) company, is hiring a Senior Network Engineer-Unified Communications (UC).  Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements.  Please do not apply if you do not possess the required Top-Secret Clearance.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer specializing in Unified Communications (UC) to serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert for enterprise voice, video, and collaboration solutions. This role requires deep engineering experience with Cisco Unified Communications platforms, real-time traffic engineering, and secure DoD network environments. The selected candidate will support mission-critical UC services at Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling and must hold an active TS/SCI clearance. Candidates without TS/SCI will not be considered. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the SME for designing, implementing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex UC platforms including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Webex, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Engineer and maintain secure and scalable UC architectures supporting high-availability voice and video communications.
  • Configure and troubleshoot session border controllers (SBCs), SIP trunking, voice gateways, and PSTN integrations.
  • Implement and manage QoS policies to ensure reliability and performance of real-time voice and video traffic.
  • Administer and maintain Cisco Expressway Core and Edge infrastructure.
  • Provide Tier III support and lead root cause analysis for voice, video, and collaboration service issues.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards and secure baseline configurations.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, engineering plans, and lifecycle strategies.
  • Support planning and execution of UC platform upgrades, modernization efforts, and capability enhancements.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in networking and unified communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
  • Qualified under DoD 8140 work role 441 – Network Operations Specialist.
  • Required professional certifications:
    • CCNP Routing & Switching
    • CCNP (Collaboration or Enterprise)
  • Strong technical experience with:

 

    • Latest Cisco CUCM release and core UC applications
    • Cisco Expressway (Control/Edge)
    • SIP, RTP/SRTP, SCCP, MGCP
    • QoS design and implementation for real-time media
    • SBC platforms and enterprise voice gateways
    • Secure enterprise network design principles

 

Preferred Certifications (Plus):

 

  • Vendor UC specializations (e.g., CUCM, Unity Connection, Collaboration credentials)
  • ITIL 4
  • CISSP
  • CCNP Security
  • CCIE (Collaboration, Enterprise, or Security)
  • Enterprise architecture or design certifications

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Large-scale DoD or enterprise UC deployments.
  • Integration between Cisco UC and Microsoft Teams or other collaboration ecosystems.
  • Supporting secure UC environments within classified or mission-critical networks.
