What is a netdevops?

A NetDevOps job involves applying DevOps principles to networking, integrating automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and deploy network infrastructure efficiently. Professionals in this role work with tools like Ansible, Python, Git, and cloud platforms to streamline network operations and improve agility. They collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and automated network solutions.

What does a netdevops do?

Netdevops professionals typically spend their days automating network configurations, maintaining network infrastructure as code, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring seamless integration between network and development operations. They often collaborate closely with network engineers, software developers, and IT security teams to implement changes, review code, and optimize workflows. The role also involves continuously monitoring network performance, proactively identifying inefficiencies, and participating in agile sprints or project meetings to align network tasks with broader organizational goals. This dynamic, collaborative environment allows Netdevops professionals to play a key role in enhancing network reliability and supporting rapid business innovation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in netdevops?

To thrive as a Netdevops, you need strong skills in network engineering, automation, scripting (such as Python or Ansible), and a solid understanding of CI/CD principles, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related certifications like Cisco DevNet. Experience with configuration management tools, network monitoring platforms, and cloud networking solutions is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and adaptability set top performers apart in this position. These skills are critical to efficiently managing modern, automated network infrastructures and enabling reliable, scalable deployments.

Is Netdevops a high paying job?

Netdevops is a specialized role combining network engineering and DevOps skills, often commanding higher salaries due to its technical complexity. Salaries vary based on experience, location, and certifications, but generally, it is considered a well-paying IT position compared to other network or DevOps roles.
