Job Summary:
Elan Partners is seeking a Senior C/C++ Linux Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in the Greater San Antonio Area. The role involves designing and implementing software for cryptographic products, participating in design discussions, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement software and systems based on defined requirements for existing and upcoming cryptographic products
• Participate in software product design and architecture discussions
• Confer with software team members and solutions architects to develop, understand, and update requirements for product features
• Read and comply with published standards and technical documentation
• Write and maintain programming documentation on subjects including code, API functionality, and software issue creation/resolution
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored, or accessed
• Lead and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications:
Required:
• At least 5 years of enterprise software development in C/C++ with demonstrated experience designing and implementing product requirements
• Experience developing and debugging software in a Linux environment
• Comfortable on a Linux command line interface
• Experience with scripting (Bash, POSIX shell)
• Experience with basic FLOSS development tools (gcc, binutils, strace, valgrind, etc.)
• Experience performing peer code review
• Motivated, self-starting, and eager to learn
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field
• Knowledge of the application of cryptographic concepts
• Experience with version control software (git)
• SQL experience and strong understanding of relational databases
• Experience with TLS and PKI certificates
• Experience using Jenkins and Jenkins files for CI/CD
• Experience using enterprise tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab
• Experience using Berkeley socket API
