Senior Business Operations Associate (Healthcare Operations)

Job Title: Senior Business Operations Associate (Healthcare Operations)

Division: Anesthesiology

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $70,618 - $83,080

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Senior Business Operations Associate serves as the primary administrative and operational support for the General Anesthesia sections at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and St. Luke's The Vintage Hospital within the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Working closely with section leadership, faculty, advanced practice providers, trainees, hospital partners, and departmental administration, this position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day business operations. The role provides leadership for staffing and workforce planning, operational reporting, project management, and process improvement initiatives across multiple clinical sites.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills who thrives in dynamic healthcare environment. This position requires the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and develop operational solutions that support high-quality patient care, efficient clinical operations, and exceptional provider experience.

Job Duties
  • Serve as the primary business operations contact for the General Anesthesia sections at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and St. Luke's The Vintage Hospital.
  • Partner closely with section leadership to support operational, strategic, and business objectives.
  • Coordinate daily administrative activities to ensure efficient support of faculty, trainees, advanced practice providers, and staff.
  • Monitor section operations and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service excellence.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures, workflows, and operational guidelines.
  • Manage section scheduling activities utilizing QGenda and other scheduling systems.
  • Support workforce planning initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, faculty appointments, position management, and organizational changes.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new faculty, providers, and staff in collaboration with departmental and institutional partners.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, expense tracking, purchasing, travel reimbursements, and financial reconciliation activities.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports related to provider productivity, scheduling, staffing, and operational performance.
  • Analyze operational data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, tracking tools, and reporting mechanisms to support leadership decision-making.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in academic medicine, physician practice administration, healthcare operations, or hospital-based environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and SharePoint.
