Job Description:
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director for Finance and Administration and collaborating closely with the Application Developer Analyst, this position provides business intelligence, reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and application support for the College of Public Health and Health Professions. The role develops and maintains reporting and dashboard solutions, analyzes complex data to support operational and strategic decision-making, improves business processes, and assists with application development, testing, and documentation to enhance organizational effectiveness and support institutional initiatives.
Responsibilities Include:
Business Intelligence and Data Analysis
  • Extract, analyze, and cleanse data to deliver accurate, actionable business intelligence supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize data from Snowflake and/or IBM Cognos Analytics, and internal operational datasets to support business recommendations and decision-making.
  • Assist with financial modeling and forecasting to support budget planning, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate operational, financial, and academic data to assist college leadership with business strategy, benchmarking, and performance.

Reporting and Dashboard Development
  • Develop and maintain scalable Power Apps, Power BI solutions, and interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights and support operational and strategic decision-making across the college.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize IBM Cognos Analytics reports and dashboards to ensure stakeholders have access to accurate, timely, and actionable information. Ensuring a seamless transition from PeopleSoft to Workday to support the university's upcoming ERP transition.
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc reports summarizing business, financial, operational, and compliance-related data for college and departmental leadership.
  • Ensure reporting solutions align with business requirements and institutional reporting standards.

Business Process Analysis and Improvement
  • This position supports a broad range of financial, operational, and compliance-related functions across PHHP, driving efficiency, transparency, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation utilizing Microsoft Visio, including workflow diagrams, process maps, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate process performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Application Development, Testing, and Support
  • Assist the Application Developer Analyst with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Laravel-based web applications.
  • Conduct application testing, quality assurance activities, user acceptance testing, and validation of applications for functionality.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, process documentation, and system specifications.

Expected Salary:
$75,000-$80,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and supporting business intelligence, reporting, and application solutions using technologies such as Laravel, IBM Cognos Analytics, Snowflake, Power BI, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively through written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and leadership to achieve shared objectives in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and administrative operations.
