Job description

This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, Utah.

What is a day in the life of a Senior Software Engineer?
  • Primarily engage in back-end development with potential for some front-end development
  • Contribute to both maintenance (30-40%) and new feature development (60-70%)
  • Participate in two-week sprints using ClickUp for project management
  • Collaborate with product managers on sprint planning and contribute to technical and product roadmaps
  • Have opportunities to learn and work with new technologies to solve complex ecommerce challenges
What will I need to thrive in this role?
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on back-end development
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails; experience with Python, Go, ReactJS, or Java is a plus
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and strong proficiency in SQL
  • Proven ability to contribute to development projects and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance software development processes and improve code quality

What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days?
  • 30 Days: Complete technical onboarding, integrate into the two-week sprint cycle, and deliver initial contributions focused on resolving high-priority technical debt or back-end service improvements.
  • 60 Days: Independently take ownership of a significant feature or a foundational enhancement to a data pipeline within the platform, actively contributing design and collaborating on roadmap planning.
  • 90 Days: Independently scope, design, and drive a complex back-end project (e.g., a new service or a major system overhaul). Furthermore, identify and begin implementing a technical process or architectural improvement to enhance system performance and code quality.
